Anybody with different Rocker panels on their GP?

After having a heart attack over the price of one rocker panel for the GP I'm fixing I started to wonder if anyone has changed their rocker panels? Maybe to the standard Aero side skirts? Those too are expensive but I can get a set. Plus with the different side skirts this car would not be a pain to put on the lift.

How many unique features can be removed, before it's not a GP any more?

You are going to find that most of the GP specific parts are REALLY expensive. There were a limited number of each made for spare parts reasons... you wanna be shocked? price the rear spoiler...

All GP specific parts are a bit of a shocker. I think GP means x5 the price of regular Mini parts.

Definitely a "hard pill to swallow" but that's part of what makes 'em so special and desireable. Would it help price-wise if we got up a "group buy"? Not that I need 'em but I love to "squirrel away" parts and would consider a set (R & L) to put away as "insurance". Perhaps there are other GP owners who would participate.

GP - Gran Price!

Way, don't break your wing... $2400. Yes. I'm serious.

I'll pass on that GB. If anything ever happens I'll be claiming insurance. That's what it's for right?

There can be a number of instances where your insurance would be of no or little help. Perhaps you go over a speed bump and tear them up. Even if the insurance were to cover it, the deductible would, in all probability, nullify or minimize any benefit. Suppose your jack slips and you crack one. Same situation as above. In addition, the more you claim on your insurance, the more your rates go up...A vicious circle.

See how the insurance company basically deters you from using the benefit you are paying for? F#ck that! I will pay my deductible and then file my claim and make them fix it to my liking. Thats what I pay them for. If they don't like it for raise my rates, SEE YA! I'll just get another insurer. I think the biggest con in America is the insurance industry.
