Got myself & the GP an Early X-MAS Present

Just as the Title states.

I got myself....

(1) Recaro Pole Position Seat "Black"!!

(1) Brey-Krause Seat Mounting Brackets for the MINI and Pole Position Seat!!

I will be having the Seat, Seat Mounting Bracket, and a Schroth Harness Belt installed this Tuesday the 21st, into the GP!!

I'm only doing the Drivers Side for now, for two reasons. Reason #1 is because of Money LOL and Reason #2 is because I sometimes (Not Often) have to take a Passenger with me. Eventually, I will have the Passenger Side done.

Some Pictures...

Awesome looking seat!

How much was it, if you don't mind mentioning?

Also, any thoughts on the lack of side airbags?

I will be sure to post Pics once the seat is Installed.

FlzRider: The seat cost $800.00 from StableEnergies.com.

About the lack of side airbags. Lets put it this way. I've driven more cars that didn't have the safety features that the new cars have these days. I don't mind if I'm driving a car that lacks a safety feature.

Nice Christmas present!

Is the harness a regular harness or a Quick-Fit?
How are you going to mount the harness? Are you going to use the stock GP rear brace, add a harness bar, or add a roll bar to locate the harness?

I've orderd a Autopower Industries Race Roll Bar and am just waiting for that to arrive. I'll be using a Schroth Rallye Cross 4-Point Harness which I've also ordered and am waiting for it arrive.

(The Harness shown in the Photos is a 3-Point Harness, which I don't intend on using for this setup. I just put it in the Pics, for show. I've had the Harness for quite some time)

Race cars have no airbags, and get into way worse crashes than road cars, with less fatalities and injuries. Maybe instead of airbags we should all just wear crash helmets. and have 2" steel rollcages.

Add belts and a good fitted seat.

At the shop currently waiting for the Recaro Pole Position, Brey Krause Seat Mount Bracket, and Schroth Harness to be installed. Should be finished by noon time.

Once I get home, I will take some pictures and post them.

Here's a few pictures after the Recaro seat and Schroth Harness were installed.

I don't know why but for some reason I feel a little more safer with this seat and belt compared to the stock OEM seat and belt.

My favorite part about the seat is the side shoulder support.

Nice seat. The pictures make me glad that I don't have to drive my MINI year round. I thought mine was dirty after getting stuck on a mud road and then having to get back in the car and drive away. Hopefully Santa will detail your car for Christmas!
