H&R Springs

I have a set of H&R Springs from a previous MCS and I am thinking of installing them on my GP to lower the GP slightly but I have a couple questions for any other GP owners who have installed shorter springs. I will be using the stock stocks. I plan to eventually switch to Adj. Koni Yellows or Cross Coil-Overs but that will be a few years down the road.

1. How is the ride of the H&R springs compared to the GP's JCW springs. Hard, Softer, or About the same? I would prefer about the same.

2. How is the overall handling? Better, Worse, or about the same? I would be about the same or better.

Doesn't the GP come with a different set of suspension, the JCW ones? You can use the springs on there?

1. It'll be harder definitely, the JCW stuff rides really close to the stock stuff.

2. Handling should remain the same maybe a tad bit better, remember they are springs, but once you switch to coils then you'll be set, the Cross are some really nice stuff!

Let me know if you want to sell the H&R though!

The GP has the JCW suspension (springs and shocks) which is only slightly lower than normal MCS (I think about 1/2 inch). I would like to be a little lower. I have never been able to find the spring rate of the JCW springs on the GP so I am not sure about the difference between H&R and JCW GP springs. I do not want to jeopardize handling by switching springs.

I personally wouldn't mess with the JCW stuff, it's good as is, go for coils if at all, the JCW setup isn't bad, already a bit lower than stock too!

Are you driving the GP on the street, or just taking it to the track? My GP scrapes the flexible front splitter all the time going thorugh dips and over speed bumps, so I wouldn't want to make it any lower for street use.

I drive mostly in the street. I do scape in some driveways and in drips if I hit them a little fast. What I think scrapes most of the time is the little flexible spoiler/flap under the front of the car not the front lip. I plan to trim it a little to make up for the lowering.

I am mainly interested in lowering for looks but I also do not want to sacriface any handling performance. I am willing to scrap a little more often.

I have not installed the H&R Springs. I wanted to wait into I completed my driving vacation just in case the H&Rs were a little stiff. I just got back from vacation but it will be a few weeks because I have a Club Drive to go on this weekend and MTTS LA next weekend so it will have to be some weekend later in August.
