So a man buys a farm...
Barn Full of Cars Incuding Classic Minis
Forgive me if this has been posted already, but my son sent me this link. Not sure if it's one of those urban myths or how true it is, but by judging from the dusty condition of all the vehicles in this barn it appears pretty legitimate. There are some NICE looking Classic Minis in there along with just about every other car one could possibly want.

I know a couple other collections
Bemidji, MN a car dealer there likes cars. So over the years he's collected hundreds. Most are parked out in the woods. Stuff going back to teens. A lot of the 40's and 50's cars in great shape. He has a couple closed buildings for the better ones. Ask him if you can look around if you're in the area. He didn't seem to mind (as long as he thought you just wanted to look).
North of Denver the mother of a friend owns a large plot. Used to be an airport. Late husband collected since the 50's. Has an old Russian army helicopter, tanks, one of Burt Rutan's early planes. Oh yeah-he liked planes. Has them all over the place. And cars... Rows of old T's on up. All the old hangars were slowly filled to the brim. Has a Stearman hanging from the rafters in one. Old Harleys and Indians and Cushmans. I spent a couple hours wandering around... Dreaming...
Another retired fellow outside Raleigh NC did the same thing. Building after building of cars he picked up cheap in the 60s and 70s.
Shoot. My next door neighbor bought a bunch of Shelbys back in the 70s when they were nothing and cheap. Started restoring and going to shows. One GT500 sat out under a tree rotting. All rusty and a mess. Sold it for 25K. Some others went for a LOT more than that. They bought a ranch and built a nice big house.
These are just the ones I've seen first hand. You never know. One man's trash... I'd hate to have the market cornered on Gremlins, Pintos, or Pacers.

I first saw this story a few weeks ago and after doing a bit of research, I'm starting to think it isn't true. Think about it...a HUGE warehouse in the middle of a field and no one bothers to look inside?? Also, that is a commercial warehouse with a lot of industrial equipment on the walls and stuff. I read on another forum that a guy who lives in Portugal read about this in the newspaper and I guess it was a large collection by a wealthy doctor or something who just passed away and left it to someone in his will...but who knows.
Either way, that many old cars collected into one spot is way cool and makes an awesome story.

And now the truth comes out. Nothing but urban legend.
