Hopefully whoever owns them will sell them to parties who can afford proper restoration so they can be returned to their former glory and enjoyed. I doubt if one person has the interest and/or money to embark on such a project on their own.

In the story that I read, there was no mention of a "new farm owner"

Thing reminds me of a guy that used to live in Sacramento. He lived in a little place in a seddy side of town, had a huge yard that was covered with cars under tarps. You could make out that it was a lot of British and Italian stuff from the 40-60's. MG-T types, old TR's, Alfas, Healey's and so on. They were rotting away essentially, and he wouldn't sell any of them. Must have been 30 cars or more. Last I hear he passed away, but never found out what happened to his "collection."

Most of us into those kinds of cars, would cringe whenever we drove past his place.

This guy did a pretty good job. I visited the museum last summer as something to do one day in Nashville. Pretty interesting...

Someone should stick OctaneGuy's card in each window.

Apparently the owner past away, at this time they do not know yet what is going to happen to this eclectic collection.

I will keep you posted

Victor
Please do.

I thought there had to be more to it. Some one had to know of the cars. The persons selling the property would have looked in the barn and knew they were there. One or two cars may have been over looked and the property sold, but not some 80 classic cars, that's a little hard to miss.

lol... you beat me to it... i was just going to say... looks like a job for OctaneGuy... or his worst nightmare.

maybe the seller thought they were getting away with not having to dispose of "all those cars" by just leaving them to the new owner.

wow... so sad that they sat there all that time and weren't taken care of. hopefully they'll all get good homes.

amazing!

It would have been an amazing story if there was only one historic vehicle! That is incedible!

There was a book I saw at the store, that was just about fantastic finds in barns and such. This deserves to be volume two!

Not knowing the vehicle numbers or exact history there may be some in the bunch.

I know some were misidentified. The Volvo PV 544 is actually a PV 444; the 544 didn’t have the split windshield.

Very true that. What if one of those Elan's once belonged to Jim Clark or Colin Chapman? Love to see some research done.

That one little open wheel car that had wings added (after the fact it looks like) might have some history behind it. Old F3 maybe?

From a post on jalopnik: http://jalopnik.com/cars/retro/open-...ion-231918.php

"After a bit of searching through some portuguese classic cars forums, i came up empty. "Interclassicos" is the classic car trader who posted this finding on its webpage, but that has been removed, apparently because of too much speculation and pressure to reveal the location of the warehouse. I found a few more pictures including one outside where a tower was ready to take an Austin Cooper S (the reason for the opening of the warehouse, apparently).
The only explanation was (roughly translated):
"The owner of these cars is a collector who requested anonymity. They are all documented and were all bought in the 80s, and in the early 90s the warehouse was welded shut."
Anyway, i really doubt they're still there, since the finding was at least over a month ago...
Still impressive..."

THAT is the most awesome, most delicious, most yummy thing I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even know HOW to restore a car but I would spend the rest of my life learning and doing it. WHAT a treasure!! Maybe, if he gets to keep it.

That will be decided depending on if titles are forthcoming.
