FIND A LOCAL MOTORING BUDDY BY ZIP CODE
Although I'm sitting in an airport in Memphis, waiting for my connecting flight to Knoxville to the Dragon, the data is only as good as the users that use it.
Are these other 10 MINI owners registered? If they aren't, encourage them to sign up.
I purged the database yesterday of spam entries, but there are a large number of users who sign up but don't confirm their registrations which won't allow them to be visible. Some people like to use fake emails which makes the problem worse.

Sorry, Canada isn't supported. I haven't had time to update the software for a provision for Canadian users. Actually, if there was a way I could get feedback that'd be cool.
People post on here all the time about problems, and that's it, they don't reply. See my last post about the person not finding anybody in their area back in May.
People also need to provide REAL email addresses not bogus ones. Registration is a two step process. Register once, get an email, click the link in the email and enter the activation info.
If they don't do this, their regististration stays in limbo until I delete it, and they won't be registered or found by any searches.
Plus as a bonus to registered users, searches are many many times faster if you log in, then do a search, rather than just search without being logged in.
Finally if you've got an Earthlink address with a Spam control that requires a manual input, please don't use that address. It shouldn't be up to me to visit your site and enter my info just so you can register. You won't receive spam by being registered. As of yet, I haven't even sent a newsletter.
But please DO use an address that you will check atleast once a week. The purpose of being registered is so that other motorists can find you and initiate contact for a run or get together. No it's not a dating service. You can opt to ignore contact from this invite, or opt to reply while always being anonymous. No information is shared unless you want to.

My finder app is only as useful as the data that users put into it. With a high concentration of users in the west and east coast, you will have better results depending on the area. In my area, I find over 20 people within 10 miles of me.
Maybe tell more friends to get on the list. =)

Hey Divajax,
I saw your registration confirmation. Thanks! I wasn't sure at first whether you were a real registration or not. I get so many spammers trying to register, so I'm always keeping a lookout.

I just went through and deleted all the SPAM registrations. The remaining ones--around 80 of them were sent emails to remind them to confirm the registrations.
10 came back as undeliverable emails.

Thanks glad you like it. You're one of the few that actually activated the account.
Good job!

Thanks! I stopped development on this tool a few years ago--mostly due to lack of time to keep it going, and I haven't done anything to update it for R56 owners--but if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to make them.
Thanks for your the post!

Usually this means that somebody has already submitted this "new" zip code for the application--but I haven't yet approved it which involves adding the longitude and latitude coordinates to the zip code. I've gotten very behind on keeping the site updated. PM me the zip code and I'll look into it.
Thanks
Richard
Thanks

You would need to create an event, then invite those from your search to that event. The idea was to invite all the nearest MINI owners to your event, but it wasn't a highly utilized feature.
