FIND A LOCAL MOTORING BUDDY BY ZIP CODE
It worked in finding 23 MINI enthusiasts but the latest Mini was from 2006. I can't believe there aren't others.
I used Flickr -- a link I found on PhillyMini.org. They had "pins" on a map for all the owners in the area.
But this is a great idea!

I've let the app slide--I haven't been maintaining it--I especially haven't done anything since the R56's came out.
There once seemed to be a lot of interest in joining people together, but the tool has had mixed results (with getting people to sign up). Guess the clubs do a fine job already.
Thanks for the feedback.

Have you found your local motoring club yet? You might want to check them out - makes zooming around a lot more fun.
Ooh, how do I find my local motoring club?
There's a "club" forum on the "forums" site:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...nal-forums-98/
Looks like you have two choices for the big clubs, but you can probably find more (smaller? more local?) clubs by going to events...:
Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts
Northern California's fastest growing and most active Mini-MINI club
REME was founded in October, 2004 with just three cars; two MINIs and one classic Mini. Although originally intended to serve the North Bay Area region of Northern California; Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts now has regional chapters in Redding, Sacramento, and the East & South Bay Area. Additional chapters are planned as our membership continues to expand.
We are best described as a social touring club. Monthly day runs often exceed 150 miles and include at least one meal. Regional chapters host dinner socials and smaller regional runs. We generally have 2-3 multi-day events planned each year attracting participation from members throughout California, Nevada, and Oregon.
or
Norcal Minis
We are a club based in Northern California with members from Monterey to Mendocino. We get together at least once a month for runs and soial gatherings. Wecruise at a touring pace and save the high speeds for track days. Come along for a ride you don't have to be a member. Need more info ? Call us on the club cell 510-881-3456

ORRRRR you could PM the guy with the username MichaelSF - he's in the bay area somewhere, too and may know of a local club.
