The windows must drop down a little to allow the door to close. Just like it must drop down a little to open the door. Has to do with how the window is pushed up into the weather stripping. So you would need to close the window a again anyways after you get close the door in order to get it fully closed. But I agree it's a pain.

I just got my car back from the body shop after being rear ended. I had auto up before I took it in, but didn't have it after. I just (10 minutes ago) went through the menu on the signal stick, held the button down when I got to the INFO/SETUP screen, scrolled through to the RESET screen, then RESET everything. Now I have auto-up again.

What I don't like about the mini

I have had my mini for 3000 miles and the racing stripes on the front are already showing wear. Whats up with that?

Computer reset

My JCW just came back from it's 30,000 mile service. The technician flased the programming with the latest update. All my settings reverted back to the defaults. I needed to get out the manual to reset things. Pushing the button on the end of the turn signal to get into the correct screen has to be the biggest pain ever. MINI could have designed a more user friendly interface for this. :P

I have owned my JCW now for about a month ... I feel the doors are a little heavy feeling ... and when you open the door the stop may spring back to you instead of just stopping at the first notch ...

The throttle is a little too responsive ... I wish it was a little more linear ...

ufomini I do believe you can set the doors so that you do not have to do the double pull, cause in mine I do not have to do that.

I'm hating the mesh grill and the mesh in the back. Trying to get the water out is crazy, OH and pop the bonnet and there are dimples on top of the mesh grill. I guess they decided these cars don't hold enough water as is and they had to make a bunch of little cups to take care of that.

I don't think MINI designers wash their own cars .

Horrible sound quality of radio

no temp or oil pressure gages

Loves:

Cruise + Digital Speedo
USB function of radio
No double-pull in mine for some reason
proximity key
heated seats
Mini bike rack
single push windows
mood lighting

Do you hit the power lock switch first?

OR

Is there a setting to disable automatic locking feature above 10mph? Iwould look it up, but I am about 8,000 miles from my car.

If your vacuum has a Blower Feature you can use that to dry out the crevices in the Grill and Rear Fog Light (empty) area!!

Yeah, I've had to get creative when drying. It takes too long to towel dry the mesh .

I read here somewhere that someone was using a leaf blower for that.

I hate that it's FWD.

And I refuse to buy a medium.

I'm not too of that either. Maybe because I'm a new Clubman owner but it just doesn't sound dignified, especially for a hot rod S model.

I HATE the fact that the side mirrors bounce GIANT bugs into my car when driving at night In all my cars, I've had this happen maybe a handful of times. In the MINI, I've had at least 15-20 bugs bounce off of the inside of the side mirror right onto me or the passenger!

Not really hate, just annoying:

Drip off roof when raining or after wash.
Cup holders nearly useless.
Armrest lid won't stay closed.
No switches for back windows. Have to put all windows down and then raise the front ones. Only way to go when using sunroof function.
Wish it had just a bit more oomph. And don't tell me to go buy an S. I am retired on limited income and could barely afford to buy this one used with a lot of miles on it.

Horrendous, sub-standard interface to the iPod (okay, yes, that's a pretty spoiled complaint, I know).

+1 on the complaint over the car payment! If only I could win the lottery (of course, if I did this Mini would be history in favor of a brand new one). LOL
