What You Hate Most about Your Mini???
You really only buy a car like this to get "eyeballed." What'd you think was going to happen? People think it's special, thus you are somewhat special.
Reasons for buying
Gee & I thought the reasons my wife and I bought one (2010 Mini S) was because everything I read about it said it was very fun to drive, had very good performance vs gas mileage and very good resale value. Well it does look cool.
But you like the attention it gets, too, right? Everything you listed you could get with a Civic, too, but a Civic is not as unique.
Respecifully disagree. I have a 2007 Civic. The Civic is not in a class with my MCS as far as handling, performance and being a general blast to drive. In fact those days I'm forced to drive the Civic, sorta feels like I'm driving a 74 Coupe De Ville , at least compared the the Mini.
I've been reading some people's hates in their Mini's.
I'm very suprised at some of the comments.
Which side fuel door on, cupholders, door locks, etc.
You should be happy with what you have.
A 1960's british car included these fine features:
No cupholders
Plastic sliding windows that leaked in a sunshower.
Convertible top frames that had to be assemblied before you could put top up.
Convertible tops that leaked when they were up.
Heaters that did not heat.
No A/C
Positive ground electrical systems.
Lucas electrics (The Prince of Darkness)
Windsheild wipers that did not wipe.
Seats that felt like you were sitting on a piece of plywood with cotton ball cushioning.
SU Carbs (What's FI?)
Wire wheels with 8 broken spokes.
Brakes that did not stop.
Lever suspension
4" wide tires
Cars that came pre rusted by the factory.
Cars that required 4 hours of maintence to go on a 1 hour drive.
Cars that are no longer produced, Austin Healey, MG, Triumph, etc.
My only regret that I didn't buy a MINI earlier.

Special Tools Needed For Routine Work --$$$
Special tool to replace serpentine belt - Other cars all you need is a breaker bar and maybe a socket.
Special Socket for Oil Filter Housing - I already owned a 36mm socket but still had to buy the special "MINI" 36mm socket because a standard is too tall to fit in the allowed space.

I don't like that the iPod/Aux/USB plugs are super difficult to plug in because of where the plugs are located. Not only are they inset under the climate control but it's all black down there so I can't easily insert the USB drive etc.
Like others have mentioned, no lever in the interior to pop the boot and can't open the boot while car is running. Temperature gauge would be nice too in case of emergencies (how are you supposed to tell if your engine is overheating?) - some of us are not auto savvy...

Yall know what's really funny.
My gf works at a shipping company and can track any container (for the most part).
If they used her shipping company (a decently big one) then she could make sure it gets to port quicker or slower...evil laugh.
