I got a wave today, but it seemed to be missing about 4 fingers, and the guy didn't seem too friendly. =(

 

Couple weeks ago I pulled up next to a Clubman exactly like mine, minus stripes. I waved, he lowered his window and we chatted til the light turned green. I get about a 50/50 return on waves.

I got my first wave yesterday!
We were driving in Belleville, Michigan & another red MINI passing us in the oncoming lane waved outside her window.
I was wondering if MINI owners waved at each other...I was going to start a thread about it, until I saw this one.
I was stupidly excited...I hit my husband on the shoulder & said "Did you see that"?!?!?!?!

I'm going to keep the wave going!!!

 

Waved at a couple of MINIs along U.S. 35 south of Jeffersonville, Ohio, coming home Sunday from the EAA Airventure show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. One was yellow, and one was specifically an '06 JCW GP. Got waves back. Also handed out a card from our local club to a cute young lady in the parking lot of the hotel where I stayed over near Dayton.

 

I always do a wave or a smile but I feel like I don't get very many back...the other day I was wondering is the mini wave dead?

 

Tykoon83, that's a continuous debate. Probably goes on in the Jeep community as well. Always wave; I do (unless I'm zoning and too focused on the road). Just tell yourself the ones that don't wave back just don't get it, or maybe they just did not notice.

 

In the few weeks I've had my MINI I'm running less than 50/50 and I *always* wave. From what I've seen I'll almost always get waves from MINI's with stripes or other mods. Waves from the more "plain" MINI's are much more uncommon. Maybe some folks are in to basic transportation and good mileage while others are more in to the MINI culture. Not sure but I'll just keep waving. It's too much fun!

 

Got my Mini yesterday, waved at 5... 1 waved back, and 1 saw me and beeped just as we passed. Waved at 3 today, none waved back.

Kinda like Jeeps, I have had 4 over the years and same thing... get 50% of waves back but I keep on waving. A lot of people don't know what it's about... at some Jeep dealers they tell folks about the wave when purchasing, I didn't hear anything about it at the Mini dealer.

 

That about sums it up. Some get a MINI for the "gas mileage" and because "it is cute".

 

First off, I WISH I saw that many MINI's a day!! Sadly not too popular here.

MINI dealers should totally tell buyers about the wave! At least that way if they choose to not do it first, they may wave back....or at least know why the person is waving at them, lol.

 

Roxy and I got a horn honk and a thumbs up today... from a guy in his work truck. I figured that his other car must be a MINI.
