Custom Euro License Plates - Who is best?
Custom Euro License Plates - Who is best?
I want to put a custom Euro plate on the front of my R53. I have identified the following vendors: autoplates.com, europlates.com, europeanplates.com, licenseplates.tv, and grtpl8s.com. The first two seem to be different sites for the same vendor; the third has gotten some bad feedback in the past; and I know nothing about the last two. Any thoughts or personal experience? TIA.
+1 for licenseplates.tv ... and WAITING for Illinois to repeal our stupid "front-license-plate" law --
I went thru Europlates.com, Ordered the plate April 21st and still havent gotten it, So i got the number from the site and called on May 5th and apparently my plate was still in production and would be shipped out the next day. Well see. Gooodluck, I definately think the euro plate makes a huge difference in the way the car looks, from pics ive seen.
I just ordered from AutoGeek.com. I'm supposed to get it this Friday. I hope it's everything I'm expecting. Is it hard to install on the front? I ordered the holder and hardware for installation. I know the front bumper is a little curved, does this make the license plate look awkward?
Europlates.com
I ordered my plates on Sunday night and they arrived Saturday Morning. Great deal and they look great!

"europeanplates.com" not recommended by me
I ordered a frame for my euro-plate from europeanplates.com in Seattle this summer, was promised it was in stock and had shipped, went through three cycles of "where is it?" with these people, and finally had to use the PayPal conflict-resolution-team to get them to send the thing.
Do yourself a favor and Google on their name (type carefully); you'll see comments going back to 2006 ... just sayin'.

There is an new Audi dropping thier kid off at school with a Euro plate on the back (Texas). It looks to be an official Texas plate but I really have no idea if it is. I would love to run a euro plate on the back of our R53 since the gate is stamped to acomidate the euro plate. Anybody know the scoop?

By itself I'm going to say no. You might be able to get away with it for a while though.
You could get them at http://germanplates.com/usaflag.htm

www.europeanplates.com is the only company with this. I have heard good and bad on the forums from them. Looks like they are just a huge company.

Not in Texas. But if you are so inclined to do so remember this. There are only two traffic violations that an officer can not take you to jail for and impound your vehicle, they are, speeding and open container. Running this Euro plate could cost far more than its worth. Having said that, what would most likely happen is you will receive a citation, there is more than one arrest title that will work in this case. The officer can take the plate for evidence which may or may not be returned. On top of all that your vehicle can be impound because it can not be legally driven on the road way or at least towed to a location of your choice. It's up to the officer so when you are stopped be nice. Good luck.

I started this thread ten years ago and still haven't gotten myself a custom Euro Plate. But recent searches reveal the following vendors still doing business: www.customeuropeanplates.com; www.europlates.com; www.germanplates.com; www.europeanplates.com; and www.autoplates.com. Anybody with recent experience with any of these, and/or other vendors worth considering?

You can get the factory euro mounts for the R50-R53 MINIs still. https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...ni_euro_plate/ Good for the finished look. I have not used those guys, i heard europlates.com was ok.
