Cradle for 2+ weeks, drivetrain malfunction error

I’ve been locked down with the statewide quarantine since mid-March. I have gone out weekly to start my 2017 Cooper S and let it run for 10 minutes or so. I’ve only actually driven it every two weeks, just for the heck of it.

Today I took it out and after less than a mile I got a warning “drivetrain malfunction. Maximum drivetrain output not available. Consult service center.”

what’s the deal. I usually drive the car 300 miles per week and now only about 5 miles in 2 months.

Do you have an OBD code reader?

Unfortunately, no. I'm going to take it to the dealer Monday.

It was a bad Knock Sensor. Free warranty repair.
