Replaced the OEM inlet tube with the ALTA tube today. Supposed to provide better air flow to the throttle body and make 4 - 11 HP more power (depending on RPM). Didn't dyno yet, but it does seem a little more rev-happy.

I took Gollum up to my test area, checked pressures, warmed the tires, and then determined that the car is indeed ready for the 2011 STX season up here in New England.

The new header, CAT and sensors have finally turned off the SES light so I am legal for SCCA rules.

Surprisingly there is still good grip in last season's Z1s.

Everything is good to go (except the driver - who is as usual seriously rusty!).

About 24 days until the season opener, but who's counting?

Cheers,

Charlie

Installed a K&N filter just to do something while waiting for ALTA's AP.

1) Brake flush with Ate Super Blue.

2) Replaced that silly band clamp on the air cleaner with a GEMi 9mm x 50-70mm hose clamp. Fits perfectly after X-acto'ing off the anti-rotation nubbin on the rubber hose. ~$1 at the local import parts store.

One day late posting this

To celebrate our 37 th Wedding anniv, went shopping in beautiful downtown Frederick, Md, had fab dinner at premiere restaurant, fed ducks in Baker Park, then drove home with the sunroofs open in my 2010 Clubbie under the Super Moon....priceless

Today installed my Zippee shades in anticipation of the upcoming hot weather!

Life is good...

No, actually he's very happy with his Toyota Takoma truck! He was, however, very supportive of me getting a Mini!

He installed my checkered wing mirror caps, modified rear view mirror cover to fit over buttons and today figured out how to connect my cell phone to Bluetooth in Giggles...so...knows how to kep me happy!

Thanks for the contests, though!

happy anniversary Giggles! We celebrated 20 last month.

Today, after a week of toting the kids around for spring break, I gave my MINI a full detail. Wash and vacuum, Meguiar's Quik Detail for extra shine, 303 Aerospace Protectant on all black trim inside, tires, and wiper blades, and Black Wow on rest of black trim. Then I checked oil and cleaned under the hood. Wow! It is a wonderful spring day in South Florida, and I just could not help myself. Next month: Zaino!

The Toyota Tacoma is a real good little truck!

When it was first introduced, my co-workers and I were in Tacoma having coffee and discussing it. I wondered, "Why did they name it after Tacoma?"
Our electrician said, "Maybe it smokes and stinks too!"

If you keep talking about him like that, Violet is going to try to have a last fling before she's traded.

Thanks, wpb! I've had the lowering springs and the rear sway bar all winter. Just staring at them. So today was a good day. Can't wait for the springs to settle in a little...

I've been flirting with the 50 mark for awhile, but today I hit it. It wasn't a good feeling, until I saw the $100 fill-up the SUV made next to me.
