Installed new Brisk Racing plugs to 0.027 gap, new MSD wires, and new MSD Coil Pack. As I was doing this a package from ECS tuning came in the mail so I also installed the Strut Tower Plate Kit, the LED license plate lights, new lenses, and ordered a few new goodies for next time. Today was a good day!

Gen 1 MINI? Aftermarket Coils have been known to destroy your ECU. Not trying to start a debate....just making you aware of a possible issue.

I'm surely not an expert so I can't comment on how but I lost an ECU on my '04 after installing a Screamin Demon and others have lost ECU's with MSD's. I know of two other sites that have threads about the issue if you want to go there and search. I would list the sites but their names are moderated on NAM and will only post as ****************** and ***********.

Looks great! I am trying to do the same, what did you use for products to get it so clean? I have a lot of dirt, dust, and grime all over mine and want to pick some good stuff up to clean it.

First, the old school hand duster, then patiently a wet cloth, when all loose dirt (no grease in my case) was removed I used Meguiar's Engine cleaner (awesome!), wiped with a cloth again and finally Meguiar's Supreme Shine Protectant.

Ill be buying some this week. Did you have to avoid any areas, or tape/cover any areas? I have a open CAI i wonder if I should take the filter off first?

Ran some seafoam through my R53, and installed xenon match h7's for the high beams.

Took mine for a drive after a weeks worth of work. Had a week off from day job last week so I figured that was the best time to drain/change the s/c oil and replace the following: thermostat and housing, upper radiator hose, water pump, radiator coolant, crank position o-ring, oil pan gasket, and install some missing screws. Also installed an aluminum skid plate for protection in the winter.

That's exactly what I like to hear! I don't buy into all the MSD bull but it's reassuring to hear some others with positive coil pack stories!
