Tis the best that could happen... It will never be the same.

I would also see what I could do about the whole steering failure issue.

Changed the spark plugs and peeled off the white plastidip today.

Since the spark plug change, my car has been running so much smoother

Wheels are back to their original paint job. I had no problems peeling the dip, easiest thing ever to be honest

I did too, but I had an unfortunate encounter with a curb and it peeled a part of it off and the rest lifted on that specific area. I thought about respraying it, but in the end just decided to peel them so I can have them powder coated soon ... or sell for a new set of white wheels

I've had an AEM CAI sitting in my storage building for three weeks now. Finally taking the Mini in on the 27th for new Cam chain cassette. Once I get that done I can install the intake, exhaust, and OCC. Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.

Let it be known that "flippy floppy" steering and driving in underwear leads to steering failure, the finding of in-movable objects, failure to apply brakes, and the eventual totaling of your beloved car. Let the public be aware.

I totally agree (no pun intended). Mine had over 17k damage too and then they found that the frame was bent. They fixed it anyway (straightened the frame and welded in a new frame rail). The body shop guy said he could "fix anything given enough money" but not so.

The car was never the same afterwards.

You are never really made whole by the insurance company.

Officially put the mini up for sale

If you mention this post if you buy it, I'll knock 100$ off the final price

Alfie got new shoes! Ordered a set of wheels and Blizzak run-flats from Tire Rack (excellent service, I might add) - they came in yesterday. Ran around town in our 30 degree temps - felt good. BTW, the weather channel says it'll be in the 60s by Sunday. Figures . . .

I got Sparco Assetto Gara wheels (looked like they would be easy to clean up around) and Blizzaks LM-60 RFTs. The feeling was good - just a little softer than our summer Dunlops and handled beautifully in the sleet and rain we had last night. Next week we'll be back in the 30s so we'll be giving them a workout soon enough.

How's California weather treating your JCW?

CF wrapped my door handles. Came out alright. Not perfect but it does the job. That was the was the last visible chrome other than inside of the headlights. Waiting for my JCW spoiler to arrive so I will have a project on Christmas Day. Still under warranty so I can't do much more. Or can I? Haha. "Evil laugh"

Santa came a little early.
I must have been better than I thought I was this year.

NM Engineering 17x7.5.

Didn't actually do anything to the car... but hope to have these installed w/photos by the weekend.

They also have red and yellow if you surf their site. Other companies have blue as well.

They mount in a 3/8" hole (I made mine 1/2" to get a little wiggle room on mounting).

Have fun. I may get some for the front to use as driving lights, and mount them in the lower grille....

C ya,
Dutch
