Cold and icy today. I left her home and took the 4x4. Question for you cold weather people. How do Minis do with very cold weather? We're suffering from the arctic blast for several days.

Great in the snow due the weight distribution and traction control. Where I live we get the blasts off the Great Lakes and Finger Lakes. I have had no issues at all with reliability. I wish that I had heated seats though. Leatherette gets cold.

No issues here in the snow we just had, almost a foot. But the plows do keep the road fairly clean. As has been said before, buy some good winter tires and you will be fine. I actually enjoy driving in weather like this . However, don't try to plow snow with your mini, it will be pretty hard . As long as the snow is not much higher than your bumper you will be fine.

Oh and I have heated seats, which are great!

Wow - NJ is warm compared to -3

i remember those Saturdays at work before i retired - not enough down time but 40 hour work weeks are a thing of the past for many.

seeing as it was 75 here in Charleston today, someone got a well deserved bath... even after living here for 8 years, it still feels very wrong to be washing my car just before Christmas...

Ice storm on the way. Off went the 18" wheels w/Pirelli P-Zero summer tires. On went the old 17" wheels with new-ish 4-season Dunlops.

stopped by the dealer today to ask about the USB/IPod adapter (my car was spec'd with it, but the wire was long gone at purchase)... decided to pick it up, as I use a Belkin FM tuner device that can get tempermental... hooked up easy, but couldn't get any volume... so off to that board for me...

and as a curiousity, I asked them to price out upgrades to the JCW engine tuning and suspension... got a number that was higher for the parts than what's listed on Mini USA for the engine side... and labor quotes of 3.5 hours for the engine work and 12.5(!) for the suspension... guess if I ever go the suspension route, I'm going after-market...

I put new wipers on front and back. After last storm, my wipers left black rubber all over front windshield. Yuk! Thank goodness for tar and bug remover.

New ones work much better.

I'm curious - do you use Invisible Glass to clean your window? This happened to me too once and i never did figure out why.
