I installed ten additional HP by adding boot stripes that match the bonnet. Got another 2hp by installing the grocery hook thing, and improved my torque a lot by adding a dynaplug kit and bottle of spare mobile one 5w-30 synth to the compartments in the back. Biggest thing was yesterday when I decreased drag by installing the Rennline skidplate.

Oh yeah, got some more go power by washing the dirt off as well

did an oil change with some castrol 5-30 edge. Thinking about switching to Shell Rotella synthetic 10-40.

BTW after 6k miles my oil was pitch black. 15,000 mile intervals my butt.

rotated tires

fixed exhaust shield rattle.

I just took my 2008 base mini in for an oil change. The shop owner showed me where they just replaced an engine on a 2007 "S". The cost for a new engine was $4,500.00! The total cost was close to $10,000.00. He said the culprit was scoring inside the engine and showed me the torn apart engine. He attributed this to not replacing the oil on a timely basis. He said too that 15,000 miles is not a good practice. He also said that he spoke with the mini dealership (this shop only uses oem parts for repairs and guarantees the job as long as mini does) and they said that they attribute the timing belt issues to not changing the oil as often as it should be changed. This oil is also use for other lubrication within and not changing it effects other areas of the engine. It's every 5k for me now! Isn't synthetic recommended for all mini's? I know on both of my 2nd gens that it is.

Took my 07 MCS in to the dealer for the tensioner and turbo heat shield service campaigns. They gave me 2013 Clubman S for my loaner. Loving it!

Thanks buddy!

Thanks Lyf... took a few tries and finally ended up with this vanity. NYS is a pain in the a$$ with custom plates since they don't like numbers replacing vowels.
Well I had them both a 05 e55 with parts I made 530 to the wheels and also had the 03 996tt with parts that made 857 to the wheels

Got the hairy eyeball from mr state trooper man. Saw him start in my direction so hit a quick right and floored it out of sight. Gonna frame my first speeding ticket...perhaps even add an evading charge to it.

The Raven,

I'm a new '14 Roadster S owner. I cannot believe how fast my Roadster is with the slightest touch of the gas pedal. The pickup is extraordinary! One glance at the speedometer and I have to dial it back. God forbid if I really opened it up....

Now imagine if you had the JB+ on your roadster, you'd definitely have to dial down on the pedal lol.

Getting ready to instal my radiator. Today was the first time getting into "service mode". Easier than I thought it would be.

Also am putting in Powerflex Gearbox mount, so I removed my computer and CAI. -For some reason "removing ECU" sounds scary to me,... But I gently set it carefully on a shelf out of the way. Wouldn't want to spill coffee on it LOL.

Can't wait till I have time to finish it this weekend; I have not driven it since September I think.

Think it has to do with the fly by wire gas pedal. In other cars we have been trained to determine speed by rpm vibration transmitted through the gas pedal....in the mini no vibration transmission. Just a whole lot of go

Finally got rid of my old, wheezy, 120k mile struts....

The fronts pretty much settled in with a few trips around the block. The rears are starting to settle in the back. I had them set a hair high knowing that the rears would take a week or so to settle in. Next week I'll see where it sits and adjust from there. Rides great. Initial setup on the valving was middle for the fronts, two clicks stiffer than middle on the rears. Throttle off hard turns push a little, but putting even a hair of throttle on to eliminate engine braking makes it very neutral. Might go a couple clicks stiffer in the back. We'll see....

C ya,
Dutch

New owner here as of Tuesday. Last night Alfie got a bath in the garage (love the rinseless car wash fluid) and today was the first fueling day. I pulled up to Costco's pumps . . . stared at the speed bumps . . . and went for it . . . slowly. My average was 27.32 mpg with mostly local (and a bit too spirited) driving. I'm having way too much fun!
