Got a new scoop for the bonnet. The original was warping from the heat. New one looks great and from what I hear, will handle the heat better. I notice that it actually has real vents in it. The original did not.

Well, I got this long skinny box from the nice UPS delivery person the other day....

Now my strut tower brace bar has arrived from VIP and, like strut tower Viagra, is stiffening Nudnik's front bits as we speak.

Yeah, I know. I need to clean up under the hood. It gets this way every time I visit my friend at the dust ranch.

C ya,
Dutch

Yesterday I went to my friend shop and he purpose some bars for my car. Some info abt my MINI, its a 2004 MINI ONE without sport suspension so it dont have any bracket for rear sway bar. My friend did a prototype for me he said will help a bit since my car dont have any rear sway bar but I'm not sure whether those bar will do anything good.

Here is the photo, please comment?

Did the plasti dip thing on the headlight rings, door handles, gas cap and scuttles. Not perfect by any means, but it killed the chrome so I am happy

Continued with the blue LED transformation. Got the toggle panel and A/C controls changed. Also added the center light in the waterfall group and changed the resistor to make them all a bit brighter. Stereo is sitting on my desk, opened up for a transplant.

This mod always intrigued me. Must require a variable heat soldering iron to remove the old LED's so no damage is caused ?

Cheapy 15watt from Radio Hack, .015 silver bearing solder, small can of flux and some de-solder braid.

And a beer to calm.

Cleaned my wheels with Meguiars all-wheels cleaner. First time I cleaned my car properly I didn't have much of a reference for "really clean". Now during each wash, I'm realizing that the layers of ick are coming off more and more and the car is starting to look cared for!
Spot clayed, and Epic-ed to protect the touchup paint work I did a couple of weeks back. Need to wipe off later tonight since I want to Hydro tomorrow.

It was raining, and I'd just washed it, so I didn't drive my MINI today.

ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!

I could not remember/figure out how to create a new thread, so am posting here.

Me (well...we...) and our Mini are driving to DURANGO, COLORADO. First road trip for this "new to me car" and am nervous as he!!, because my husband insists on driving. Nooooooooooooooo!

I plan on taking a picture of Scarlett all packed up and ready to go...the Schnauzer included, and posting it here if I can figure out how to do it!

The other 2 dogs are being boarded. Even a Mini has its limits. PLEASE wish us luck in the mountains. It's our first Mini (well, 2nd if you count the *** auto we returned), and we are EXCITED.

Now...........I need to put Xanax in hubby's coffee. That way, I can drive!

(and any advice on mountain driving is GREALY appreciated!)
