I can't wait to see the end results man. Every time I look at the pics of your car all smashed up, I get a little bummed out. But at least you saved it instead of it going to the scrapyard.

So i took my R53 to the muffler shop today and i got this installed.

He cut after the cat mid section of the car (like round the back seats) He took my stock mufflers off.. and just routed pipe to the tips... (standered Y pipe chrome tips..

Its Extreamly loud...

around 3k it hits a peak of just loud... WOT after 3k or 3200 it dies down and mellows out... i like that part but.. damn in 6th gear... on the freeway.. around 75 - 80... its loud...

i dont really want it that loud...

Should i install a muffler after the resonator?

i only spent 200 bucks...

Or should i delete the resonator all together..

Is it common to add a matching magnaflow muffler with the resonator... please help me out.. i wasnt expecting this to be this loud.. Reminds me of loud *** honda but with out the raspy sharp noise... i wish i had a sound clip maybe i will make one..

So did you delete 1 muffler? Is this muffler installed before the split? If so, I can imagine it would be extremely loud. If you get rid of your resonator it will be even louder and possibly raspy at that point.

Put in a new tensioner, belt and damper. I am very lucky. The old tensioner was shot, it fell apart when removed. The old aftermarket cable (that is supposed to protect it from crashing into anything was snapped)...it must have just been running perfectly on top of another pulley because it was like this for a while. So much for catastropic failure. I think it has been like this for over 1000 miles. Everything worked fine and I had boost, though I think I was losing boost over 5500rpm since I noticed 14lbs pressure today where I think I used to see 10lbs which I figured was due to a head and full exhaust. The roads were wet, so I didn't really get on it, but I think I got more power. It will have to dry up to tell for sure though.

Thanks. I dont see it as being too overly stated. Here is another side shot. I used a font with a line thru the numbers to bring the top line of the A panel out further....

The last of my bonnet work - actually done a few weeks ago, but haven't had time to take pics and post...

PW headlight rings, headlight de-yoke and the new gold NY plates - if you can call that a mod! I like the gold with my PW vs. the old hyper-white/blue/light blue plates...

Love the PW Trim rings. Adds a touch of sophisticated elegance to the bonnet area. I agree on the plate too. When I lived in Jersey all NY plates looked like that. Very distinctive color combo and does look so much better than their other plates. A+

replaced the front ambient air temp sensor. I ran over a 2 x 4 on the highway and a splinter popped into the lower grill and destroyed the sensor including the connector . So, new sensor, re-wiring, and resetting the ECU. So nice to have my auto-climate control working again and no more SES light; after 2 weeks it was really starting to get to me. OK, rant complete.

I've started down the path of changing the LEDs in the dash from orange to blue. Got the clock done, sunroof switch is next. Tach and Speedo will be last, the faces from Outmotoring might make their way into my car.

Nothing major, just popped out the rear seat. I have an "N" (novice driver in BC.) restriction on my license for 2 years, which means no more than 1 passenger. I figure why haul the extra weight around? I removed the whole thing, but under the bench looks pretty ugly, and it appears someone spilled oil or something on one side and never removed the seat to clean it up. I decided to remove the seat backs and leave in the bench until I get around to fabricating/purchasing something suitable.

Anyone know off hand how much the seat backs weigh? I took it out for a spin and it seems to feel lighter, but im 99% sure it's psychosomatic

Installed my rear seats again. I get to take them back out in a week and put the delete kit back in. I'll be doing a dragon run in September.

Well if the weather looks good for the next few days and I get out of work at above time. A nice wash, and wax is due for Stella. If I'm not dead tired by then, I'll start on the inside too. We'll see how the day goes! If not today, then tomorrow.
