If u live in the DC area, I totally understand that! When I 1st got Scoopie, I lived in DC (live in MD now), and between the stop signs/lights and unpredictible pedestrians, there was no way I could drive a manual--I would have had my knees replaced twice by now! Less physical and mental stress having an auto by far.

 

You oughta bring that T Kitted auto out to the High Plains so I can have some decent track competition. the stickheads just cant keep up!

 

2009 Clubby S AUTO...but, I say, I was at the Post Office in Burke in the fall when another MINI drove up...as soon as she found out I had an automatic T, it was like I didn't own a MINI. That was a rough introduction to the extreme MINI culture!

Yup. Stickhead snobbery at its worst. Talk about close minded! Oh well at the track I put them in their places, and they don't like it. As long as they're in my RVM i could care less....

My 2010 Cooper Mayfair Automatic is on it's way. Docked in Charleston last Friday, so I'm just waiting for a call.

 

I am looking for some feedback from automatic MCS owners with Mods. I'd like as many responses as possible. Please answer what applies to you. Thanks for your help.

Please describe the difference in Manual drive after adding CAI and a pulley.
Was there a drastic difference in your opiniion?

I'm a bit unsatisfied with the power I'm getting.
(Mine is completely stock. It seems kind of slow.. )

Basically I am trying to decide if I should mod this car or if that is just throwing money away for MINIMAL gains.....

Mod an 06 S automatic or save my money for MINI #2??

All I know is that my Local MINI Guru says the automatic responds especially well to a smaller pulley.

I haven't done it yet, but it's safe to say there's a 17% reduction in my future. (LMG also recommends upgrading the CAI at the same time, as the stock intake will be pretty much maxed out with the pulley reduction.)

 

Yeah, too bad, but I think I stay in Sunny So Cal...

 

Kind of like how the JCW tune kit responds especially well in the 2nd gen automatics.

OK, I've read all over these forums about mods folks do 2 their MINIs--mostly pulleys and CAIs 'n such. What, exactly, does 17% reduction mean? Is that the opposite of what it sounds like re: power gain (i.e., 17% faster/stronger)? And, if u get the pulley, you intim8 that a CAI is a must due 2 changing the pulley. The only mod I want right now is a rear sway bar, but if the pulley and CAI will make Scoopie zip a little faster on takeoff, that'd be cool, 2--as long as it didn't cost an arm & a leg.
