Add me to the group. It seems like I one of the only ones that has done a good amount of mods to there auto car. I can say I am extremely pleased with the results.

glad some people are modding their autos for speed too, definately something i'll be looking at in the future once i get the outside as i want it.

Got 40mpg on a road trip at the weekend, well happy with that!

Making Mods, be careful!
Just thought I would drop a few lines to say, when making mods to you MINI be careful not to over tighten bolts and other things. I just got through replaceing my valve cover on my 06 MCS conv. automatic. When installing a MSD coil I over tightened the bolts and put a severe crack in the back of the cover, "that was dum". after changing the cover, "expensive" I am back to finger fliping on the road. Geo.

If doing that type of work on your car you need to invest in a quality click type torque wrench. Preferably 2 of them. One in foot pounds that goes up to about 150 pounds (especially good for lug nuts, etc) and one in inch pounds for small items like valve covers and oil filters and drain plugs. Worth the money in the damage you can prevent. Helpful if you do not have or are just developing the experienced feel to not damage things when tightening.

Interesting, I thought everyone preferred the MINI automatic.

I have had my 07 MCS since June 07, ordered in April.

Mildly modded, see the sig., always adding or changing something, next up is an exhaust change, some new wheels and track tires. Yes, I do lapping days with my MCSa.

I don't have the JCW Stage 1 kit, but I do have 205WHP/265WTQ.

Very proud 'new to me' 2007 MCSa, with only 9000 miles! Loving the paddle shifters. Mods so far... removed the back shelf thingie, added grill badge holder and some badges last night, and replaced the cigarette lighter with a Belkin USB plug. Very serious mods, I know.

...and the paddle monster keeps growing

according to a recent MF post, not only will the 3rd gen 2012 model MCS's have a BMW-made 3-banger that's lighter and pumps out more HP and torque, there's a good chance MINI will offer a dual-clutch auto as an option to mate with it. I hope it's the Aisin 7-speed. How many here would drool over THAT?

So Don do you post slightly faster lap times than the manuals? Mine average nearly 1.2 seconds better as a whole, altho I will admit Ive not gone up against a factory JCW--yet.

Evo?

That Countryman looks compelling, but as the snow is falling hard und heavy today Id like to see MINI come up with a utility truck that can be configured to one's needs, a smaller version of the Benz Unimog. We can call it "MINIMog." and I will then attach a snowplow to it so I can do a better job clearing our alleys than the dorks our HOA contracted to do the work.
