I'm on it all of the time and I still don't understand it. Sometimes there are over 30 MINIs logged on but most of the time, it shows no MINIs. I was following the main MTTS ralliers from the east but I couldn't find any from the west. Some times it shows people logged on when they have been logged off for days. I can't wait until it isn't so buggy.

 

im trying to get a base of people in NYC that use it. Its a great idea for an app needs to be worked on i think

I hate to say this, but I rarely play MINI Link anymore for two reasons.

First, I had my iPhone replaced under warranty sometime around June 2010 and my points reset. I had amassed about 1,100 points by that time. No luck restoring the score, and I tried to email MINI through iTunes for support but didn't get a reply.

The other, and more practical reason I don't play MINI Link often now is that I rarely see any MINI's regardless of whether I have the Map set to my local area, the entire state or even the entire US. Last spring I could see as many as a couple dozen nationwide at any give time, and a few in my state for sure.

I suspect I'm not alone. I'm seeing far fewer Power Pellets in my area in recent months. That could simply be more backend issues, who knows.

I love the premise and loved playing. I also think this is a killer marketing tool. Hope MINI sticks with this app.

 

i think it's gotten even worse.

i too lost all my points when getting a new phone.

but since the ios4 update, i haven't seen a car on this app. so i went from seeing people every day, until about a month ago, never seeing anyone since.

 

Just installed the new update for this app, but it still is buggy for me. I still can't save my profile pic, and I continue to have a ghost of my car following me.

Everybody run, don't walk to the nearest app store and get your update on!

 

I just updated mine and am amazed at how many MINIs are NOW in my area!

NOW to see if I get any waves returned!

 

I use mine pretty often but never see any other people on there. I only have 55 points due to this lack of "others" :(

Agreed! I am with Sprint for another year, since AT & T service stinks in my area. Now that Verizon has the iPhone, I'd love to get it but I'm stuck with my Sprint plan for another year with my Android.

 

I wouldn't hold your breath... MINI seems pretty attached to the hip with Apple. But... I promise you're not missing much. I open the app maybe once a month only to be disappointed because it doesn't really do anything useful.

 

Thanks...good to know. I think I'll most likely pick up the iPhone next year when my Sprint contract expires. I do like Pandora on my iPod and Android. I suppose it's not such a huge deal not to have access to it while driving.

Anyone using MINI link in PA? Once in a while I see a few mini's, but then they just disappear... Is this happening to anyone else?

It's a cool idea but seems buggy and is in need of an update!

 

My Sprint contract expired sooner than I thought and I'm on Verizon with iPhone now. I downloaded this app to use in my Countryman, but the app seems really buggy. Has anyone gotten it to work? Seems like there are a lot of problems with it (App store reviews). Mini Connect is great though.
