General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
My friends laugh at me for having a history of driving small cars and being such a giant (I'm 6'0".... 6'3" with heels). But I've known and heard of other huge people who enjoy MINIs (like my friend who is 6'6" driving a LB/wht MINI).
6'1", but not yet in a MINI. I'm currently in a 2006 Cobalt SS, but I'm working on getting into a MCS by the end of this year. Besides the MINI, the only other vehicle that has brought me close to motoring nirvana was a 2006 Lotus Elise! It seems I'm drawn to small, fast, fun vehicles!
my boyfriend is 6'2'' and he drives my car with no problem. i dont think he even has to have the seat all the way back... the mini may be small but its got plenty of head room
6'3" and plenty of head and leg room. My only issue is when I have my "snow boots" on, I wish there was just a bit more space betwixt the foot pedals; as I have big feet, big hands...
Im 6ft and have no trouble fitting in mine, an '02 S. Acually I can put the seat all the way back and not be able to reach the pedals. I like the look on peoples faces when they see a 6ft 250lb guy with a full beard get out of a Mini lol.
I am 6' 2". I have a 09 Factory JCW. I have a long torso so I hit my head on the roof all the time. My MINI does have a sunroof so that may be part pf the problem.
I am 6'1", 225 with a 32" inseam. I put the seat almost all of the way back and set low. No one can really sit in the back seat. The only problem I have is when I am wearing my Harley boots with higher heels and have difficulty easily sliding my feet past the pedals.
Otherwise it is a very comfortable car to drive...
I always wanted to chop off the lower portion of my steering wheel cuz my knees always hit it when braking... Is this a problem for anyone else?
Nope and I have a 34" inseam. Seat is all the way back and down. Steering wheel is adjust about mid level up and down. Try adjusting your steering wheel up a little and see if that helps or try lowering your seat a little.
I'm 5'3" but... a friend of mine is 6'6" and has to wind the passenger seat all the way back and sort of cram himself in. I think he'd have more room if he were driving... but um.. I don't let anyone else drive.
It even says so on one of my boot badges. "Yes it's fast. No, you can't drive."
6'4", 34" inseam and 20 stone; the drivers seat in MINI-Fred is all the way back so basically a 3-seater for most of the time and I get the "how do you fit in there" all the time. There's enough side-to-side legroom so I could run my seat forward enough (and still drive) for someone whose not too tall to sit behind me for short trip to the pub but likely not any distance driving.
6'3" and plenty of head and leg room. My only issue is when I have my "snow boots" on, I wish there was just a bit more space betwixt the foot pedals; as I have big feet, big hands...
My SO complains of that snow boot issue, too. I always tell him to take an extra pair of shoes but he's all .
6' here only car I do not put the seat all the way back, because it is hard to shift/ reach the steering wheel. My Dads MINI is a 2007 and I love the adjustment where you can pull the wheel closer to you wish I had that on my 2005.
Knees rub the wheel only when I have it lowered down more that not.
