Tall people in MINIs
5' 9", 200 pounds, and i'm just as comfortable in my mini (i drive it around for work, doing food deliveries) as i am in either of my mom's two trucks, one of which is a lexus RX and the other of which is a suburban. sometimes, i get some left leg cramps, but i also don't have a clutch pedal, so my left leg just kinda sits there doing nothing, which is the main problem.
when i was learning how to drive, my grandpa, who was 6' 2" at his peak, and still around 6' at the time i was learning to drive, regularly sat in the passenger seat of my car, whether he was teaching me how to drive or my mom was driving him around town in my car to save gas. he found it quite comfortable, no matter how the seat was adjusted and no matter if the sunroof was open or closed.
that's quality over quantity. if you want to count how many people can comfortably fit in a car, i can truthfully say that i've had six people in my mini before (four in the back) comfortably, people ranging in height from barely 5 feet to approaching 6 feet.
the mini isn't a perfect car for large groups, or for very tall people, but it surprises you with how adequate it can be on the interior.

Why would someone who is 5'9" think to give their opinions on this topic :-)?
I'm 6'8" and 240 lbs. I drive my wife's '09 Clubman S regularly and have room. I had to order it without a sunroof as they drop the roof a couple of inches. Also I have to wonder why the headliner drops down an inch as you get farther back in the car. Don't see the reason for the sudden drop off. Also the OH SH*T bar on the driver's side hits my head if my seat is too far forward and I hit some rough roads.

6'1" and '05 MCS.
When it comes to height, it also matters if you have a long torso or not. A person who is 6'5" may have a short torso and have no issues with headroom, where as a person who is the same height with a long torso and short legs might have issues. LOL.

...Amen
I am 6'4", a friend of mine is 6'8" (big boy, let me tell you
) and when I took him for a ride the first time, we had a 3rd behind him who was 6'0", and we all fit comfortablly in a MCS. They were amazed. It's all in the seat adjustments. Use them to your advantage.

A second on the mirror being too big!!
Absolutely right. You get into the subconscious habit of looking under and around the damn thing.
Boss drives a GMC Yukon, his wife drives a Lincoln Continental. Our MC has more leg and head room than both. Yes the Yukon can haul more junk, but I always find the seating cramped. In the Lincoln my knees hit the dash and I'm only 6' 2".
We have taken 4 in our MINI a surprising number of times. I find I can drive in OK comfort with the driver's seat well forward of where I normally use it. In general though, I find it's best to put the tallest people IN THE BACK, so the seats can be as far forward as possible.
+1 about the mirror though, I wish it was a little smaller and somehow positioned so I don't have to duck to see around it when going around right corners.

My friends laugh at me for having a history of driving small cars and being such a giant (I'm 6'0".... 6'3" with heels). But I've known and heard of other huge people who enjoy MINIs (like my friend who is 6'6" driving a LB/wht MINI).
So, how tall are you and what do you drive?
6'0" --> 2009 NFR Clubman

2008 MCS, I'm 6'4" I have my seat adjusted comfortably, I have about 5 inches of headroom above me.
6'10" and 285ish and I drive our clubby with the kids behind me with no problems. Had to opt for no sunroof and went with an auto because getting my knee to not hit the wheel when coming off the clutch was near impossible with the kids behind me (I have to keep the seat not quite all the way back.) Can drive the classic just fine as well
I'm 6'-2", and like the others here, no problems. My kids can even sit behind me.
When I first got the MINI, the secretaries were staring out the office windows at the end of the day to see how I was going to fit in "that little car".
I've even managed a classic '78, that was a little tighter but still doable.

6'3", 200 lbs. I ordered my '09 justaclubman without the sunroof, because I was worried about the headroom. After driving it for a week, I could have ordered the sunroof, because there is no shortage of headroom. I was more worried about footroom, since I have trouble getting the size 13's jammed up in the pedals. I even wore my work boots on the test drive to make sure I could work the clutch on the commute. No problem at all. The only fitment issue is with the sport seats...I can't wear the duty belt while driving. 30 pounds of gear tends to get in the way of the bucket seats desire to gently cradle me during the driving experience :-)
6'6", a slender 204 lbs. I have yet to order my Clubman; however I have fit comfortably in both Cooper and Clubman. Even WITH a sunroof (though I will order mine without - as they really don't keep out sun completely).
Oh, ...... currently, I drive a 2006, 1st gen., Scion xB. Plenty of head room. Go figure, eh?!

I agree. One test drive in a MINI with a sunroof convinced me I did not want it - the mosquito mesh screen doesn't keep the glare of the sun out of my eyes. And, if you live in a sunny area, the interior gets real hot since there is no way to close the sunroof. I have seen an aftermarket solid shade that is held in place with suction cups - between the sunroof and the mosquito net. Kinda hokie looking.
I'm 6'6" w/ 34" inseam.
I fit nicely in my 09 S Convertible, though a passenger in the back seat would have to be very short of leg.
Cars that fit are a problem, so I was happy to find I could make a go of it in the Mini.

I'm 6'1" and my other car is a truck, a Ford F-150. I fit fine in the Mini, front seat and back seat. My son can drive it no problem and he's 6'5" (his car is a 2009 Acura TSX). I always sit in the backseat of the car I am thinking about buying with my wife sitting in the seat in front of me. We fit easily in the Mini. I liked the Mini because of the rear headroom. It was one of the features that sold me on the car. That and the 1/2 door.
I do occasionally have problems with shifting when I wear my work boots. If I don't make an effort to step a little to the right on the clutch, my left foot hits the foot rest when I depress the clutch and the clutch pedal won't go all the way down.
I've got a 2009 Mini Clubman, manual with a sunroof.

My brother in law is 6'7" and has as much headroom in my MCS as he does his Dodge Magnum (which is made for big and tall people).
Penn Gilette, love him or loathe him, is 6'6" and has two MINIs, which when asked, he purchased because those were the only cars he felt comfortable sitting in that he actually wanted to drive.
