Picked up my New MCS

Hello All,
I picked up my new MCS from Motorwerks Mini last Saturday! My MA Chris was great. I've been smiling ever since. Do you like the strips? This is an upgrade from a 04 MCS. So far, I don't regret it, but I do miss the supercharger whine. Anyway, happy motoring to all!

Sharp MINI, I do like the stripes. Looks very classic, is it AB or a very dark blue, your picture is great.

I am going to put my factory wheels on next spring, I think the web spokes look great on yours.

Really nice. Contrasting roof and contrasting strips on the roof and bonnet look sharp. Even the driving light covers are contrasting! Love the Web-Spokes. About the only thing I wouldn't have done are the chrome mirror cap as they aren't my thing, but overall very nice looking car.

You'll miss the R53 supercharger whine and the clutch feel, but you'll love other aspects of the R56 like the better ride, fewer rattles, quieter highway cruising and significantly increased passing ability(torque). I really wish the R53 had more low-mid range torque for passing so I didn't have to downshift as much when cruising. It can be fun around town to downshift and wind the motor out, but when taking a long trip the R56 will excel. There is a give and take to every situation and we can't have everything but you'll be very happy!

Congrats!

Great car - love the stripes (but then again, I may be biased...)

Congrats on your sweet ride and those are killer stripes. Enjoy the motoring, although it sounds like you already are by far.

Hey All, thanks for all the positive comments! I've had the car since Saturday and I have just over 500 miles on it and I've washed it twice. I did notice one thing tonight while we where out for a spin. It don't have any gauges??? You know, water temp, oil pressure, the important stuff? I know it has dummy lights for major problems, but it's nice to watch the gauges. Again, thanks for all the great comments! See ya on the road!

I was disappointed when I test-drove a 128i when I was debating leasing "one" (ha!) over buying another MINI to replace my 2003 R53 and the first thing I noticed missing was the instant BMW MPG gauge. I've always expected every BMW to have the instant MPG gauge and was sorely disappointed to see they had gone digital. Hey, at least in the MINI you can still check you own oil! You can't say that about most BMWs.

And when you open the hood you can see, hear and touch the engine rather than plastic bits covering everything. Even the engine in the new Ferrari California is mostly covered up!

Nice looking car. I'll keep my eye out for you around the cities. You'll get the salute instead of the wave for such a fine looking Mini. Enjoy!!!!

Nice color, and I love the stripes. I am currently debating whether I should add the black roof stripes to mine.

I agree and I am sure so do some others here in NAM but unfortunately MINI did away with the chrono pack that was an option on the 1st gen Minis which included those gauges where the center speedometer goes and moved the speedometer next to the tachometer located on the steering column.
