New to the Board and introducing my Homemade Mini Trailer
Well, 3 days in the garage (counting paint drying times) and I have a welded steel framed "Radio Flyer" type trailer for my Mini. I get a lot of smiles on the road with this one. I have traveled across country with it and it's like it isn't even there. Joey
I got the hitch from Mini Do More (but don't bother getting the Valance or wiring kit from them) and installed it in about 1 1/2 hours total. You don't have to take off the tires or undo the wheel well coverings like it says in the instructions either. Didn't even remove the back tires like it also said I would have to do.
The wiring harness from Mini Do More was also bad so, I got a heavy duty one from the local RV dealer for half the price and sent the bad one back to them for a refund. The valence they sent just had a rough hole (hand cut) and I used a beaded wire split covering to dress up the hole for the reciever hitch above the exhaust.
Oh, the trailer is just as fast as my Mini.... Joey

I have been looking at that same trailer frame myself. If you look at Mini-Do-More's website you will realize the trailer they sell is the same one that is customer painted with diamond plate deck. I can do that part myself for far less.
Love it, love it, love it! Glad you posted pictures! It makes it so much cooler when you actually see it. Let me know if you ever start mass-producing them...or even producing more than the one...
Welcome to NAM. That trailer rocks! What a great idea and it sure has the cool factor. My husband also modified a Radio Flyer Wagon (the small version) with wood on the sides so that we could take our blind and deaf aging dog on walks with our other dog. Sorry no pics with our pup it the wagon.
I'll definitely have to show my hubby your creation! Nice work.
