New to the Board and introducing my Homemade Mini Trailer
Oh, p.s. I forgot to add that it's cool that it still fits in a normal size parking space!! Love that pic.

The stripes are blood red like my "Radio Flyer". I had them made at the local graphic place and installed them in my garage. It all took about 45 minutes. Had to take out the hood scoop to do it right... Thanks again to all of you for the really nice comments. I will post in progress pics soon on the building of the trailer for those that want to do their own.

Where did you get the "Radio Flyer" graphics? What kind of paint? I'm thinking of selling my truck and a Radio Flyer trailer would be a neat replacement. Is the wood special or just standard Home Depot issue?

Well, it's called Traffic Red (oil based paint) and you can buy it at Wally World ... That's WalMart for those that don't know. And the base and box are made from Aspen wood And the Rails are 1x6 top grade Pine (no knots). I rounded all the edges so as not to get splinters and the rear gate comes off separately. It has Screen Door safety hatches keeping it attached to the other 3 sides that are one piece. The whole thing comes off and the base can be used for a flat platform, rail for a motorcycle or whatever you like. You could even put on a camper pop up. I wanted to keep my options open. I put 3 coats of paint on, 3 coats of clear sealer for the rails and slats and then clear sealed it all to keep the color bright and the weather out. I am glad to see so much interest in my little toy, I did it for fun. It really does come in handy and turns a lot of heads. Joey

Have heard you'll want to put a lil' loktite on the bolts holding the trailer together, or have a friend spot weld it for added stiffness and sturdiness... but that's a GREAT trailer! When my Brave Little Trailer finally gives out I'm going your way....

In an earlier message I wrote that I already welded the joints of the trailer and I used Lock Washers on the fencing that is already Glued and Screwed together. Nothing is coming apart here
. Do it once, and do it right!

Very cool - and great advice! Sorry I hadn't read all the posts in the thread... next summer I'm going to try and replicate the Astro Black effect with spray bombs on the Brave Little Trailer... I'm thinking co-spraying metallic blue with black may do it, as long as the wind is calm. We'll see. Your "Very Red" is SO cool though.

Joey
I'd surely be proud to drive around with such a unique cling on attached to my rear.
