Thats freaking IT! I'VE HAD IT!

For the 3rd time i was coming home tonight and some moron in a giant white mini van thought he could cut across the opposite direction lane and jump in front of me and go from esentially a dead stop at a stop light to ahead of me in 3 seconds....he came within three inches of me....he needed to wash his van! And when i hit my horn i got no reaction what so ever (but the one bird salute did get his attention). I have decided to get the dual air horn from MINI Mania, from now on when i hit my horn i want a reaction!

I don't understand. Are you upset at the driver and the way he/she conducts their van or that you didn't get a reaction from the driver when sounding your MINI's horn?

I like how you described the "giant mini van". You should go have a massive small coffee to settle your nerves after something like that!

the air horns work, believe me I've had one in my car for 4 1/2 years. Leave the stock one attached for even more decibels, but be sure to carry 15 amp fuses with you. At least on my rattletrap '02, if I lean on the horn for more than 10 seconds, it'll blow a fuse...
dunno what year you have, so I don't know if you'd suffer the same fate...

air horns. . . . . . have you tried following them home and threatening them with a firearm? That will give you a more memorable reaction.

But seriously, things like this no longer bother me. I know that there are idiots and jerks on the roads and I simply leave enough space for them to merge because they are going to take the space whether I give it to them or not.

As an alternative to the airhorn check out Griot's garage for the electric horns they have.....very loud and they are a plug-n-play install.

I used to work for the railroad, and a buddy of mine liberated a set of locomotive horns. He'd set those off behind some idiot, and it was like the hammer of Thor hitting them!

Go big or go home! Groits are ok, but of you want some attention, then get this...

http://www.hornblasters.com/

There's room behind the bumper for most of the smaller kit, then just find a place for the compressor. C'mon... how mad are you really... mad enough to make a difference?

I second that... but I do forget, sometimes. People around here, I swear! (yeah, it is LA, so we've got the "my car is nicer than yours and so I must be more important" crowd. But, we've also got the "I don't care about you or any one else for that matter" crowd. These are some mean streets, baby. Good thing my MINI makes me smile!

I hate people that do that.. I usually just speed up to get out of the way of anyone that looks like they want to pull something stupid.

I know it's irritating to be cut off like that but I couldn't help but laugh at the part where you mentioned that the person needed to wash the van.

I had thought that the MINI Motoring Community was supposed to be a little less Postal!? Trust me...I understand exactly how you feel. In the PNW everyone drives like they are the only ones on the road. Women putting makeup on, talking on the cell phone, drinking coffee and driving with their Left Knee. We (Husband & I) are able to carpool, hence the MINI and it's awesome gas mileage. Since I do the driving everyday both ways I've become alot less stressed about those kind of situations because I know once we get the MINI I will be more protective of MY Molly and that may mean giving someone else a little more room to be STUPID. I don't let him drive 'cause I'd be 'white knucled' the whole time. I drive a '01 Dodge Durango so I could make most cars on the road a Postage Stamp if I wanted.
