I just saw the original Italian Job with Michael Cane. Good not as good as the new one, but it was great see those original Mini doing there thing.

Yes. Good movie. I too enjoyed the newer one a bit more.

Funny I always thought the original was the better. At least there was some acting happening

FYI - the Brit stunt driver of the red Mini in the original version is fellow current Nashvillian Phil Wicks!

the original is better. the humor and tiny details & quirks really made it special. the new one is just flashier, has the new movies, and norton's painful acting (he had no choice).

The new version automatically wins because it has Charlize Theron in it!

I like the old one. I've got "the making of the original Italian Job" also. Pretty interesting. You don't see many "makings" shows on movies that old.

The reason I own a MINI is because of the original Italian Job. I remember being about 14 or 15 when this was on TV one cold snowy Saturday afternoon and I thought it was greatest movie ever at the time. And I thought the cars were so cool that I told myself that one day I would have one. Well about 35 years later I got one!

Found the trailer for the original...

Here's the intro to the original. One of my all time favorite scenes. Really gets your blood pumping. The Miura is a fantastic looking car...

Hmmm...I never realized Benny Hill was in the original version until seeing this trailer...

It's tough to see that red classic meet its doom down the cliff side. I'm glad they put Charlize behind the wheel of the red classic, zipping through traffic, in the remake.

The song makes perfect sense only at end! Make sure to check out the deleted scene of the Minis at a ballroom dance with the Italian polizei cars! Bizarre and fun!

I appreciate and love both versions. However I think the original takes the lead. Mostly because the car stunts in the original are so much more fun to watch. To see those little cars drive up the side of a building, then jump a couple of buildings. That was some good stuff.

I liked the original better. I thought the stunt driving was better there as well. It was a little more quirky.

They're both great movies! Very different, but both are entertaining. And the original has one of my favorite movie lines, from Michael Caine when they're practicing breaking into the truck carrying the gold, and use just a little too much explosive: "you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!"

It is a very different movie than the new one. Kinda silly, but had the story behind it. It is one of those classics amongst many others we need to watch on a day with downtime. Like my day with the flu today.
