Show us your retired color
As I've been lurking around NAM, I've decided I'm a big fan of a lot of MINI colors that didn't last that long (like velvet red and silk green). Considering MINI's history with dark reds, I have a feeling that my own nightfire red might not be long for this world either.
So let's see those solid golds and solar reds one more time!

That looks great! I love a darker blue like that. I'm hoping people will have lots of colors I've never even heard of.
Your picture reminds me, I don't know much about mods, etc. and I've been meaning to ask what that plate is below your bumper. I've seen other cars with them and I have no idea what they're for.

A Splitter is a protruding flat surface in the front of a car that is designed to decrease front end lift and exert downforce. By creating a high pressure area on top of the wind splitter, high pressure air flow is restricted to flow underneath a car. With low pressure below the car, the effect of lift is reduced and a driver can gain from the extra traction and control.
Thats the party line. Being as we don't really go fast enough for it to work and the ground clearance is too high coupled with the fact the underbody is not smooth and there is no rear splitter it only has two purposes. 1. It looks cool and 2. it keeps the aftermarket parts economy moving.

Well, it's only recently been retired, but here's my "Cool Blue" 2006:
"Cool Blue" was MINIs only pearlescent "effect colour", and it's really amazing how the colour changes depending on the available lighting. Throughout the day, it goes from bright blue to an almost steel-grey, and in bright sunlight, you can see gold and rainbow-coloured sparkles in it.

Silk Green is my all-time favorite MINI color. Space Blue (w/silver top) is a close second. The day I picked up my MINI there was a SB/S (used) on the lot. I had never seen it on a car in person and was sad I hadn't ordered it (it was still available then). It had a silver U-stripe and was soooooo sweet.

I always loved how the MINI configurator displayed Cool Blue - as a "flat" "lavender" kinda color - no one in their right mind would order that color unless they had seen it in person...
