Up until now, I hesitated to respond to this thread, because I wasn't sure if getting the "upgrades" done before you even pick up the car would count. It's true that the $10,000 mark isn't hard to reach from the dealer, thanks to JCW stuff and other OEM accessory options.
It's nice to know, however... that I'm not the only "crazy" one out there who threw a ton of money at their MINI.

So yeah... Does this club including repairs for a mod? if so think I'm about to $20k. Oh, my list! Twincharger, and Ryesprings! Now for the gritty details! Forged pistons, titanium valves, Ported n Polished Head, Bored.05 over! Not done yet, but will be a good one to two weeks!

Holly Crap Your Mini's not even 6 months old yet and you've blown past me with my two year head start I hope you sprung for a a good boost gauge/controller/timer this time (Eboost) You'll be in the 30k club by the time you catch up to me in the other areas. Great to hear Zak...We need you back to kick more Evo butts...Woodward is coming up fast

Hi Everyone,

If you include labor to put it all in I am past $20K. If some one told me when I started that I would have over $40K in my Mini I would have said your nuts but..........

I am pretty happy with the performance now. I am going to start the little things that add detail to the car........Sid, your the benchmark.

Wow Bob You too have blown past me already I've got a part list but no prices (too painful to recall LOL). Maybe we should start posting that? Thankfully, I installed most everything. Otherwise, I may be in the $20 club

Two years ago this is what I posted in this thread:

Lets see:

Custom Roof Flag and installation $350.00
Lower black grill $ 35.00
Carbon Fiber Intake Trim $200.00
OZ Crono Evo Wheels, Bead Blasted, Powder Coated and Clear Coated $1,804.00
Yokohama Evo Tires $352.00
Balancing and Install $140.00
Window Tinting $180.00
JCW Upgrade $5,600.00
Total to Date $8,661.00
If anyone had told me before I purchased my Mini that I would be spending this amount I would have told them they were crazy!
The very last two items I will do is a cold air intake and heavier brakes which should put me over the 10m mark. Anymore money spent I this car I think is over the top at which point I will start looking at a different car in a higher catagory. But I love my Mini!

And this is what I have done since than:
JCW Cold Air Intake System $385.00
R90/BBS Wheels $1,750.00
Michelin Tires $650.00
Six Toggle Switch Panel $60.00
Aux Cable for iPod
Rear Fog Lamps $100.00 (Dealer fee for flashing software in the UK)

Next I absolutely have to get the JCW brake set and suspension and than I will be done. Of course that's what I said two years when I first posted in this thread

On MINI2 some Brits are complaining how the addition of a simple JCW airbox increased their insurance premiums by some US$600 per year, so I for one am glad to be free to modify whatever I want without having to worry about voiding my insurance policy.

MCS are very rare over there due to exorbitant insurance rates, while over here MCS are ~half of all Minis sold. Half the Imprezas sold are WRXs, and half of the old Firebirds used to be Trans Ams, because our insurance laws make it possible. Something to think about next time you complain about high insurance rates.

I realize now that my car never ran properly before it was modded, and now some $1600 later it works exactly as it should have from the factory. It has 19%/GIAC/JCW injectors/JCW CAI/H-Sport Comp rear bar. Oh, and the diode mod for connecting rear fogs w/brakelights was ~$2.

$24999 up grade

I don't know if it counts. But my wife like my coop, so she got an 05', witch is an upgraded model. so that puts us at $24999. other than the new coop, haven't done anything to mine yet. but the wife is putting on checkers and numbers right now on hers.

Not on my MINI, but dang close on a supercharged Miata. Lost about 50 cents on the dollar when I sold it. Not making that mistake on the MCS.

SAT radio - $227
Union Jack roof - gift
PIAA lights - $245

It's "custom" enough for me.

I used to spend a lot of money on car mods. Now I spend it on travel. The cars and the mods come and go but you always keep the memories about the trips.

WOW, you guys have some nice rides!

Hopefully I don't become like some of you miniholics.

Well, here are the list of parts I just ordered last week, even though I don't even have my 06 SB Cooper S here yet, waiting for delivery from NY. I don't even want to look at the amount I spent cause it will only cause pain, oh well its only money.
Alta intercooler with diverter and sprayer
Alta 15% reduction pulley
Alta cold air intake
22mm rear sway bar
M7 tunning larger throttle body

Next on the list is Invidia exhaust system and ecu reprogramme. Anyone have any exprience with the Bluefin ecu upgrade?
I also have a few audio equipment waiting to be installed: Kenwood dvd deck, Xtant 5 channel amp, diamond audio speakers, and JL audio w7 subs.

I also purchased the new Ipod 60gig video player to use in the Mini.

Well, I made $90 when I got my new wheels on sold my S-Lites with the runflats. Until a week ago I was "minus $90" in terms of upgrades, but now I just received my H-Sport springs which set me back $250. So now I am $160 upgraded and going towards MORE soon.
:-)
