MINIs Motoring Against Cancer
I could, possibly. I'm in the Minneapolis, MN area. What's the chance of making the exchange next Saturday, the 16th?
How about meeting at MINI of Omaha?

We have a Clubman release party coming up on March 1st, so this would be perfect!!
If that day won't work out, I can find another. However, I am unable to travel the following weekend. This Sunday is another possibility, although it is supposed to be extremely cold.

Sounds like a fantastic move, MINIxB can you do that? Thanks to all that have worked so hard to keep the banner moving and raising money for the local cancer folks! Hat's off to you all!!!

Okay, assuming that 'SotaMINIs get the banner, who can we hand it off to next to get it to AMVIV? Our event is planned for March 1st.
I believe it is supposed to travel by MINI carrier.

I'm not able to get the banner up to Minnesota before their Mini meeting. But I think I can get it to AMVIV. There is a few members from KC that are going to the event I can give them the banner and have them take it.
I'd be willing to drive to KC next Saturday. Would someone be available to hand off the banner?
More importantly, if I pick up the banner, what's the next step to get it to AMVIV?
Or maybe it's just better off sending it to AMVIV, and maybe we'll see it on the return. It would be a shame, though, as it would sit stagnant for another six weeks.
On a bigger note, if the goal is to get it to the Dragon, that doesn't leave much time between AMVIV and the Dragon. I wonder if reality means the Dragon in 2009. Either way, it seems that we could use a definite schedule based on who wants to host the banner. Banner time should be about two weeks between handoffs. But that means that we need to know where it is going as soon as we pick it up.
Just some thoughts.

The KC MINI Club is having a meet on Saturday the 16th--you're welcome to join us if you want to drive down. It would be fun to have a visitor! OR if there is someone in the Omaha area that wants to meet halfway, I will be NW MO Friday and could meet somewhere around Rockport in the early evening. I'm concerned the banner has been sitting for so long and want to help get it moving again...

Just in case, what time is your meet? The drive would be around 6 hours.
I'm still concerned that we have nothing lined up for getting it to AMVIV. At least outside of some KC club members.

The meet starts at 1045am. Here's the thread for it: http://forums.kcminiclub.com/viewtop...t=1189&start=0
The KC meet is at 11 on Saturday (tour at a local coffee roasterie, lunch and MINI gazing) but if you are willing to drive all the way down here to get the banner, I'll make sure it gets to you regardless of our schedule. It's been here too long...
Or maybe MiniXB would be willing to meet you halfway on Saturday? That's a whole lot of driving for you in one day!

Kansas City, here I come.

I will try to leave at 7:00, so I would guess I will be in KC around noon to 1:00. Who should I contact as I get close? I can PM them my cell number.
Will your club meet be having lunch around that time? If so, I could join you. Otherwise, we could meet at Baron MINI.
I may be bringing a copilot, and/or other MINIs. I'll see if anyone from 'SotaMINIs is up for a road trip.

By the looks of it, this is pretty much a straight shot down I-35. If anyone along the way is interested in a road trip, let me know. I'll bring my two-ways.
MINIs always have more fun in numbers!!

Thanks to everyone in the midwest for moving the banner along. This is a great project for an even greater cause, and everyone's effort, to date, has been exciting. I look forward to seeing pics of KC , MN, and AMVIV, etc. Altough it would be more fun to hand if off personally, UPS is the next choice. Just don't want it to get lost or bogged down.
Thanks to eveyone's efforts.
A special acknowledgement to Bullfrog (our member that we started the banner for). This is the one year anniversary of his passing due to cancer, which started the banner. You will note a special silver bullfrog on the banner. He drove a silver MC.
