MINIs Motoring Against Cancer
I donated online after the meet not sure if the $965 included that. I posted this up on the forum I own with a link to the ACS page maybe some of the kids on my site will donate some of their parents money. I'd like to see the $1000 mark. If we don't hit it by this time tomorrow I'll push it over myself.
Great turnout for the drive.

actually, I found a check in the car this morning so I've updated the total to $ 990. I'm going to throw in $10 to make our official total $1000, thus reaching our goal
In conjunction with the on-going effort started by the Tar Heels MINI Motoring Club, the Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts will be taking possesion of the Minis Motoring Against Cancer at AMVIV in Las Vegas and carrying on the cause. This is the banner that started in North Carolina and has been passed along from Mini Club to Mini Club across the country. This is a fund raising event to help fight cancer. REME will display the banner at our booth at AMVIV and then Sandie "Sandiepepper" Zduniak of Yreka CA will carry it on to the Emerald Mini Club in Oregon. We have set up a donation account in the name of Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts with a goal of $1000. Please make your donation here. Thank you for your generousity.
Happy Motoring!!!

Update:
Thanks to all that made donations. In just three short days we have exceeded our $1000 goal, $1065.00 as of today. That does not mean that we need to stop, only that we have alot of generous Mini enthusiasts. We will continue to welcome donations and will hold our drawing for the lucky winners at AMVIV in Las Vegas. You don't need to be present to WIN! All donors will get their names put into the hat and the lucky winners will be drawn on the parking lot roof of the Palace Station Hotel.
Another generous prize has been donated by Rob "Califzeph" Saunders & Christopher "Starlord" Calhoun of Miniology to the donor pool. They have donated:
"15 Minutes of Fame" on the next Miniology podcast. A special interview goes to the lucky winner. You will be interviewed and can speak on any subject of your choice (within FCC regs.). This will be broadcast "worldwide" on Miniology.com.

A special thanks from North Carolina
You guys have done a great job. When I first had this idea, I thought it would work since the MINI community is truely a bunch of dedicated people. A special thanks to everyone who has helped make the banner to the West Coast. After a trip to others, on the West Coast, that have expressed interest, we look forward to having it back at the Dragon.
I don't want it to stop there, but just a brief stop, before continuing to others that have expressed interest.

Publication in MC2 Magazine
Talked with Barry at MC2 and he is going to do a story about the Banner. He asked that every club that was involved send him short details regarding where the event was, when, and how much. Include pictures if you want visual identification for your club. His email address is publisher@mc2magazine.com It will be very interesting to see another story of this, and will hopefully spark more excitement.
Thanks to Norm for helping this work.
PS. Just sent Barry an email describing, as best as I could the history of the banner. If you want your club recognized in the article, please email him.

I agree. It is going to the Redwood MINI's and Oregon, and surely, I can ride with people(s), back to the Dragon. I know the DC MINI wants this, and I understand that they want this for MINIs on the TOP also.

Just wanted to urge everyone going to AMVIV to stop by the REME (Redwood Empire Enthusiats) booth and sign the Minis Motoring Against Cancer Banner, all donations are going to fight this disease that affects so many. Thanks to all the great people helping out!!!!
News at 11....Still unpacking. Just got in late last night!
Everything went wonderful. We are still getting more donations on the American Cancer Society website and received donations during AMVIV.
The banner was passed to Emerald Mini Club and they are taking it to Oregon, passing along to PDX Mini Club, then onto PSMini.
Will have pics up as soon as I can find my camera.

The banner was turned over to Gary Simpson NAM ID ("SimpsonGI"). He was heading for Eugene OR on Sunday AM. I let him know that the banner was to make it back to the Dragon. It is his plan to pass the banner to PDXMini (Portland OR) and then to PSMINI (Puget Sound WA). I had heard that someone was heading to the Dragon from there, but I don't have details os who. Suggest a PM to Gary to see if he can give you some tracking information.
Thanks for letting Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts and all of us be a part of this!!!!

I made an uneventful pass over to Redwood when I first got there. Promised to come back for a proper handover picture then discovered I was allergic to something in bloom. When I wasn't in the car driving letting the cabin air filter do its thing I was holed up in my room trying to breathe. Glad everyone is moving this along.

If there is anyone in the Pacific Northwest or Northern California going to the Dragon please let me know. If the banner is to go back East for the Dragon, I'd prefer if went by MINI instead of UPS/Fedex.
We will be having our event with the banner on Saturday, April 19th. I've set up a donation page here, contributions are welcomed from all.
Please tell me the Banner is not going to be sitting out of the fight while MOTD is going on.......
Statistic: On average 1500 people die from Cancer each day in the United States. That means that 7500 people will die from the disease in the US alone while MOTD is happening. SEVEN THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED. Multiply that by how many family members and friends that will have their hearts broken and be affected in those 5 days alone.

No it has not. In response to my initial email to the address contained with the banner giving an update on the banner's location I was asked about getting it back to the Dragon. The person whom I contacted was going to be going to the Dragon but when I contacted them again for a shipping address, it would seem as if things worked against it this year and they will not be able to make it.
Unfortunately, the banner will not be making it to MOTD. I will pass it off to PDX MINI on May 10th and they will then pass it off to PSMINI.
Our hope is that it will then go down to Southern California, perhaps to West Coast MINI in San Diego, where it would then work its way back up to San Francisco for the Magical MINI Mystery Tour where it could be picked up and start its journey back home again.
