Thanks. I really like them too, and seriously thought about getting a second set for the SS. That just didn't seem right though. The ones I did get for the SS though aren't all that different. Hehe, what can I say?

A question for you ss owner...

What would you prefer Sport Stripes or Bonnet Stripes?

I'm playing to get some stripes for my mini but not sure which one to get..i feel that sport stripes would look better for my mini since it's not a type s..what do you think?

Sport stripes as long as you got the $ for them.

Bonnets were free w/ my package.

Sports stripes, definitely. My CR has bonnet stripes, and my SS has sport, and the SS stripes look SO much better. There are some people on eBay that sell the stripes relatively cheaply (like $15 shipped).

I hear ya! I'm all for saving money, but when it comes to DIY, I always get a little nervous, and I'm not sure if you "mess up" on the stripes if you can re-do it. I just wonder if there is someone cheaper than the dealer though.

There is the "wet" install and the "dry" install - wet is recommended for beginners. Search the forum and I'm sure you'll find it.

I'm sure you can find a tint shop or an auto spa that does it cheaper than the dealer.

No tomorrow (Saturday) Nugget gets her stripes. But of course we are expecting a storm tomorrow and i'm about an hour north of them and we are supposed to get worse snow up here!!! oh well, will see what happens if it is too bad, i will reschedule for sometime next week...

But now i'm confussed, which stripes are which?? I'm getting the black with white trim... which are they?

The bonnet stripes have the white trim. I don't think any of the sport stripes do. IMO, I'd see if they'll do the sport stripes at no charge instead. But that's me.

Yes see if they'll do sport. Doubtful but I like the bonnets too...if you do go bonnets see if you can get all black..I hate the stupid white stripe on the ends they put on at the VDC.

I really like the bonnet stripes, remember my seats are the sidewalk, black with white pipping. so this would tie everything in nicely.
well looks like the weather might be just rain by the time we have to be there... so will post pics as soon as i can.

thanks for clarifying the sport, bonnet stripes to me.

I like all the stripes and think they all look great-but I also like factory aero -body color wheel arches with no stripes and we are thinking of going with that on wife's pepper white that we plan to order in the spring.

What it really comes down to is: Sparkling Silver looks awesome, pretty much no matter what you do to/with it. It's all the other colors we need to worry about!

Since it has been over 2 weeks with no posts, it is time to *bump* this thread back up.

What's been going on, SS owners?

Hi Will - yes let's see if anyone else will get this thread starting up again.

I've been adding chrome to the interior - little by little, it is looking awesome.

Starting to plan for the Dragon. Any other SS planning on going? I think we saw about four or five others last year.

Being on the west coast, the Dragon is just too far for this unemployed person. It looks like we're even going to skip AMVIV this year too. It sucks not having a job and being able to afford to do these kinds of things.

We've got our local club, which normally has a run a month or so. It's fun, and I'm still the only SS in our group. Every meet I'll still have someone from the club come up to tell me how much they like the SS, or how their next MINI will be SS, etc.

MCWill, sorry to hear you're unemployed also!

There are a few SS in my local group, one other convertible also.

No not going to the Dragon either! Have fun!

Hi North America SSOC!

I'm from down under Singapore. Took delivery of my SS MCS on 31st July 08 and loving every moment of it. Here is a photo of it after adding in some stripes in dry carbon fibre.

Just added in a carbon fibre scoop lately (delivered from UK!) but not yet take any photos of it. I hope I can get some black wheels soon and share with y'all more photos.

Anyway, this forum is really cool. Many photos, many instructions, many posts and many ppl! We have a small community here in Sg @ www.minisg.com

And is there a logo for SSOC? Would anyone mind emailing me if there is? (I'll PM you my email addy.) I would like to make a decal out of it and have it on my ride.

Hey Silver Arrow-

Sharp looking car! I love the roof stripes; I'd do them on mine if I didn't get the sunroof. I've thought about the CF scoop too, but with no job/money, it's going to have to wait. And I do have black wheels and it really does make a big difference (for the better). You've got the JCW body kit too, don't you?

There is a logo/badge for SSOC. It's in my signature (really small, hard to see, but it is there). There is a thread on here somewhere with all the badges. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll do a search for it later.

Have fun driving that hot car in Singapore!
