Does anyone know if replacing the stock gear shift **** falls under comfort and convenience...????? (no not a short shift kit just a nice ****)

Also I gave our new sponsor soloracer.com a try and ordered up a set of Numbers and some magnetic sheet.... I have a divisional on Fathers day weekend so it was time to get something better than I can print on the computer.... good price on the # set too IMHO.... Now I just need to make up some MINIUSA.COM decals for the contingency program.....

**** is not comfort and convience. A car with a tall cylynder shift **** could be replaced with a small ball type, making a poor-mans short shift kit. An aside on stock rules, if it does't say you can you can't, but here is the kicker, if you are not protested it is legal. Tech is for saftey not rules violations or even classing of the car. I would not protest a whalen **** on a Cooper, but I remove mine prior to Tour events.
Run the Wings on magnets instead of MINIUSA.COM. Much better looking IMHO. Contigency $$$ Rules.

Thats what I thought... on the Shift ****... SO you can run the wings instead of MINIUSA.COM... !!! I agree that would look much better. I tried to e-mail the guy handling the contingency at MINI USA but it gets bounced back.

My interpretation of the contigency rules requires the "MINIUSA.com" on the nose and sides. In addition, they encourage you to run other MINI logos. The Wings are a nice logo, but they don't have the same target value as a large MINIUSA.com.

I was given this snail mail address to get decals for the contingency money. I have not tried it yet. They said to request in writing to this address.

I spoke directly to Kevin Philips at MINI USA and he confirmed what I had heard at Petersburg, the wings meet the requirement for the contigency $$$.

Contigency money is a sponsorship reward only if you win. MINI USA will pay out $500 if you win a National Tour or ProSolo Event, $250 for 2nd,$125 for 3rd. All you have to do is put MINIUSA.COM or the MINI wings on the front and sides of your car and race.

AND compete in a national event. Mini USA, as do other contigency sponsors (Hoosier, Kumho, etc) do not pay for local places, and even divional. Hell, I'm not sure there is even contingency money out there for Regional events is there?

And you need to run a divisional somewhere to go to a National event (well, other than ProSolo I think?)

MINI USA does pay contingency money for divisional placement. For the full details be sure to check TEAM MCO and look under MINI USA Awards. The documents cover not only SCCA competitiion but also NASA and Grand Am events.

You do not need to run Div to run a National event, and for Nationals you can go if you pay a waiver fee of $50 or run a National event and no extra fee.
