Hey guys! This is total speculation and the only reason I'm thinking about it is because another car is on my radar.

I have a 2010 cooper FJCW WC50 #441. It's completely stock except for window tint. Has 45,000 miles on it and I'm the second owner. These are very exclusive cars and only 500 were produced with only 50 coming to America. (400-450)

What would be a reasonable asking price on it?

 

What a gorgeous car. Hard to value collectibility. Also depends on zip code and demand in your part of the country. TruCar would show more standard 2010 Cooper S or JCW models easily going for $20,000, so that might be a low baseline. Have you taken it to a dealer for an estimate? Let us know what you find out!

I work for a Mercedes Benz dealer and a mini store is our sister store. I did go there but they low balled it significantly.

I have done that. Cars.com doesn't even have a John cooper works model. Let alone a wc50 option

 

Weekly black book values on a 2010 JCW is $18,000. Collectibility premium unknown. I'd ask $24 and prepare to be disappointed in little action, but you never know.

I think your biggest hurdle is the year of manufacture - 2010 - folks paying good $ want newer

 

You need to fix your search then - I see a bunch of 2010 JCWs.

Regarding current market value based on collectibility status - this is the big unknown. Remember, you bought it at what you claim was a big discount. It seems from your original post, you didn't even know what you had bought at the time if I remember correctly. That is because your perceived premium based on the collectibility is only valid to a very small portion of the MINI community, let alone the intire population of the overall car buying public. These modern day special edition cars (no matter who the manufacturer is) will only be considered collectible somewhere in the future, not now. I know there maybe a few out there that will transcend this but the JCW WC50 in my opinion is not one of them, especially since the variables that make it special are all just cosmetic add ons - nothing that I haven't added to my own JCW. To a very determined buyer, you might get a slight premium over comparable JCW but not much. I love the WC50, but I wouldn't pay much more for it that a run of the mill JCW. This is just my opinion and hope you make some money off the sale. In the meantime, have fun owning and experiencing the thrill of a special JCW and plan for the next car in your future. That is why I love owning a MINI. They are fun to drive and fun to personalize and make your own, although with the WC50, you will want to keep as original as possible - one of her reasons I wouldn't spend much more for it personally. As always - YMMV....
