Cant get my 2012 JCW to stop pinging

Cant get my 2012 JCW to stop pinging

Love the car to death but just cant seem to get it to stop knocking, and really badly, 3 out of 10 times when I really put my foot in it. Walnut blasting was done, fuel pump is new, I run good gas (91 only) and I have even thrown a bit of that redline fuel system snake oil at it. No luck.

Thoughts?

Try adding octane booster or higher test gas. We can get 95-97 here and I've never had problems

Just rolled over 40k.

Latest update: had the shop foreman at the local dealer come with me for a drive. His eyes went real wide when I demonstrated the issue "yeah, we dont need to go further, this is a real problem that needs to be addressed"


And you wont believe it....................new engine is on its way!!!!

They had already tried fuel pump, injectors, de-carbon blasting etc

Was it a bad fuel injector? I had / have a similar issue and am getting a new engine as well
