Going to go test drive an 09 jcw

Hey guys I've been looking at and researching about mini's for quite some time now. My dad and I have an appointment to go look at this chili red 09 jcw. It does have an accident on the carfax (Right rear quarter panel). From my experience in autobody shop and having a car with TWO accidents on record. I know that if done professionally, usually a body shop paints better than factory. The dealer did say the mechanics are great, it is at a bmw dealership. I'm not sure if it does have the jcw suspension on it or not?

Looks good man. They're addictive. I sold my '09 2 years ago and just picked up another '09 a couple weeks ago. Mine had 43000 miles and got it for 16900 as a weekend "come see us" sale at a BMW/Mini dealer. The only mod I could see in the pics was I'm pretty sure all gauges in '09 were white, and the grey ones didn't appear until '11 or '12. (correct me if I'm wrong) Could have just been a shadow in the pictures. There were grey aftermarket options though.

Yea I went for a test drive and looked at it. It looks and drives awesome. On the inspection sheet they found two leaks at the valve cover and oil pan which their going to do before I get it. Carfax says the timing chain and spark plugs have already been changed. The front tires are like new but the back ones are the factory Dunlop run flats. Is that safe to have run flats and regular tires at the same time? I picked it up for $17,5 with 47k miles.

Right away I took a look at the springs lol. I couldn't tell that well but the springs them selves are black and not a lot of spring..pretty short.

It should be Ok with those tires, but personally I would like to have all my tires match. I think the stock springs are black. Most guys that get new JCW's go all out and put on coilovers. I would if I could. Gotta save my pennies.

I was checking to see if it had the jcw suspension because from what I've read, it was an option in 2009. The springs on it are black, isn't the jcw springs red? It probably is the regular s suspension.

Looks great! Since the car is at a used car center at a BMW dealer, ask them to provide you with an ASAP VIN report. This will list all of the options on the car as it was built, this way you will know if it has the sport suspension as well as any other options they didn't list.

Yea I called my local mini dealer and they sent me a copy of the options. Doesn't say anything about the suspension.

K2 - I haven't been around here much so I am to sure if it's appropriate for me to post this here (happy to list in Marketplace if forum rules require) but my '09 JCW will be for sale soon. 42k miles, Chili Red, no sunroof, 6spd, Bluetooth, clean carfax, and the kicker...Ohlins coilover suspsension which really enhances the ride. Happy to provide more details if you want them. SF Bay Area.

How much is it to buy the GP2 suspension coilovers and where can I buy them at? Later down the road I was gonna get coilovers but since I don't race on the track, I really didn't want to mess with the rebound and damping, just the height.
