Where is the EVAP purge valve located on a 2009 JCW? I've tried to find it according to descriptions for other models...with no luck, and can't find a JCW specific thread on the purge valve.

The EVAP purge valve is apart of the carbon (charcoal) canister.
The canister is under the rear fascia.

Erik,

Thanks for the reply but, on my JCW Clubman, (Same as yours?!) the charcoal canister and the attached EVAP vacuum pump are located next to the right-rear wheel well and the purge valve (AKA fuel tank vent valve) is located somewheres unknown. On other MINI models it's located various places in the engine compartment. I can find the valve, for the JCW Clubbie, listed, on various vendor websites (Pelican parts, Penske parts, etc.) but not on any of their diagrams, not even RealOEM, so no clue as to its location. I have a persistent leak in my EVAP system and the vent valve is one of the suspect parts, but I can't check it if I can't find it. Guess I'll start tracing hoses.

Do you have an accurate part number for the EVAP purge valve for a 2nd-Gen (R55 platform)?

What's the current fault code(s) from a MINI-specific scanner tell you?

Are you sure you're not getting confused with the Leak Detection Unit (DMTL) that pressurizes the fuel tank and evaporative system to monitor leaks?

Yes...that unit is attached to the charcoal canister.

Jon, have you removed the airbox and looked directly below?
I physically see the right angle connection from line #5 near the firewall, above the rack-and-pinion of the steering system.

Jon
The valve in the image and what you are looking for, is attached to the underside of the inlet manifold.
