Best wishes selling your car. There are those looking for this model. Don't undersell yourself or the value. I wouldn't sell mine for less than low 20's. It's not just another JCW. Thanks again.

Great looking WC50. These will be increasingly difficult to locate in great condition and low mileage. Many were modified, tracked and treated as just another JCW. With there being only 50 in the United States and 500 world wide - yours is a rare and great car to find in new condition.

^^ I saw that one back in the day at the Pittsburgh international speedway I believe. It was super clean.

Well Folks I finally got around to putting an add together. Had a real hard time with it since I really don't want to part with it, but I don't really have a choice. Its in the market place - take a look and tell anyone you know that might be interested. Other than a few minor chips from normal use, its in really great shape. Hoping to find a real MINI enthusiast to pick it up.

Good News (I Hope)

For awhile, I gave up looking for my cars number, but today it caught my interest again. And I believe I have found it. I think my car is #401. I found an old picture on the owners group on Facebook which looks exactly like how I received my car (wheels, yellow tinted rally lights, and roof rack) except without the side scuttle numbers and hood stripes. I messaged the person who posted it in hopes of trying to figure out what happened to those numbers and the COA. Hopefully I can get the numbers remade by a friend who prints stickers and such and will probably be buying the hood stripes as well. Thank you for everyone in this group. I’m glad my car finally has a number (if it is indeed the same car).

WOW! Can you make out the number? Can't see it on my computer. Rims look to be in rough shape and miles are high. Wonder how well it was taken care of. They don't seem to know what they have there and I'm guessing no COA. that's an absolute steal at the price.

BTW - I've gotten a bunch of inquiries from other WC50 owners about my recent sale. they are all trying to get an idea of market price. One of the guys mentioned that there is another one that may be totaled and is trying to figure out an insurance settlement - 417

Unfortunate about number 417. That leaves 48 in the US.

New Special edition on its way...
your not special anymore....
only a football chant towards Jose Morinho, So please don't take any offence, it's only a bit of comic irony as things move on, and new milestones are reached.
I would be interested to see if people perceive better or less value against the Wc50 with this new MINI "60" limited edition car

For myself im far more interested in spending on a Gp3 if it ever happens this year

Big difference in the 60th anniversary edition versus the 50th. First, it was not commissioned by John Cooper. That may be biggest difference. Probably no COA either. Then it's available in many versions - 3 and 5 door, multiple colors, base and S models. There is no JCW version mentioned. Also no production numbers have been released. I doubt that there will be less than 50 in the US. I would say that the 2010 MINI Cooper John Cooper Works World Championship 50 still holds a special place in being the rarest edition and model in the US.

The MINI 60th reminds me more of the R52 Sidewalk. Even the colors are similar.

This is a Special Edition, not a Limited Edition like the WC50.

True. I'd compare it to the Checkmate. It too was available in base as well as S models. It also had two colors as well. It was a "package". No production numbers were set for it. It was a special edition.

Your so right, I didn't really read into All the detail, and I hadn't appreciated the other colour options,
I'm not even sure that all the interiors will follow the outside colour scheme, you would have thought they would take the WC50 as a benchmark and improved on it. I'm sure having a bigger better party on my 60th compared to the half century.
Another missed opportunity by MINI.

Little Update

Figured I would update this thread. I contacted both the previous owner and the first owner about my car. I’m happy to say that I do in fact own #401 and I have received the certificate in the mail from the first owner. Unfortunately, at 84k miles, my engine went. My Carmax warranty pulled through for me and I have a new N14 in the car and is driving fantastic again. No modding anymore for me. I’m working on getting the hood stripes ($98 on ECS :0) and finding someone to remake the side scuttle numbers. Then I’ll just need the original wheels and the car will basically be original again. Although I don’t know if i want to keep the car. Or what the value of it is since mine has 85k on the clock and now an updated N14 motor with about 1k miles.

Interesting story and your persistence paid off. Unreal that the COA was still available and not with the car. Makes you wonder why the first owner kept it. Too bad the engine went but not bad that you get a new one. Fresh engine in a chassis that has 84,000 miles. You are lucky you had Carmax. The engine may be an issue as to overall value to a collector. The matching number thing..... Otherwise you have a good looking driving car. Why spend the extra money if you are not going to keep it or know what the value will be? You may be spending a lot of money and not get a return. Just a thought.

So, that I am aware of, numbers 443 and 417 are no longer on the road. They were in accidents and were totaled by the insurance companies. Does anyone know of other US WC50's that are no longer on the road for any reasons?

432 on eBay

WC50 432, with ~55k miles, is on eBay.
