The GP2 mats add 5mm thicker red borders front and rear, slightly lowering the car’s center of gravity for a superior handling experience. Dealers are currently offering a 5% labor discount for removal of original mats and replacement with GP2s.

Welcome back Jackmac I followed that bid as did my son and congratulations. He said he saw you on the Jersey Turnpike perhaps taking the car home last Saturday. These are the tags on the original mats that came with the car in Europe. The GP mats have red piping on the edge while the WC50 had only thin red stitching. Hope this helps you.

Yes! That was us bringing the car back to PA.
Video coming soon to the YouTube channel. Will be documenting this experience, and the mild restoration of this car.
Hey Guys. I recently bought #413 on Cars & Bids. Will be documenting the process of refreshing this car. Below is Episode 1 of the adventure. More to come.
I took some time yesterday pulling together what might be a definitive registry of US-market WC50s. Using known VINs as bookends, the bimmer.work site for original-build option codes, comments from this thread, and a $14 payment to bumper.com for unlimited VIN reports, I am very close to having a registry ready for this group's consumption. In short, there were ~56 VINs with option code 7HK (World Championship 50 edition) showing as "USA" market; they were produced in 7 batches from April to June of 2010; 47 have definitive US title records and 9 have no US title records, which suggests those 9 were made for other markets that accept US-spec cars. So we've got at least 47 of our 50 cars identified. That leaves us with 3. @mini coop , funny enough, I believe yours is one of the 3 to be reconciled only because it might have a lower VIN than the rest-- feel free to PM me with the last 3 VIN digits for #400 and I can solve that mystery. Another mystery car might be #421, last seen at Schomp MINI in CO, which may not have been titled. Three are confirmed write-offs (VINs *751, 811, 826, with photos to prove it on scrap-dealer sites). 9 cars show delivery mileage as the most recent title record.
Everything is in a simple Excel spreadsheet with most recent recorded mileage (through either title or sale records) and most recent sale listing data where available. Bumper.com has sale/title/salvage info but not stuff like service or registrations, so it would be great to crowdsource the improvement of this sheet with more recent data. Carfax could provide this if anyone has generous access and wants to update it-- but at $99 for civilian access for 6 reports I wasn't inclined.
The remaining effort is to link scuttle numbers to VINs...some of it was available in this thread and through historical sales listings, but this will need to be an owner-driven effort. The scuttle numbers are correlated with the batches but not sequential by VIN.
I'd welcome ideas on how to best put this document in a place where it can be edited and updated by the group...
Google drive is one option for hosting the spreadsheet. I’ve got pretty good detail on two of the cars I owned in the past (413 and 425) and have photos of many of them if you want pics included in your documentation.
I also agree a google doc is probably the easiest. The only thing I would caution against is to avoid good data from being wiped, you or someone would need to audit the document periodically.
I noticed you are in SF Bay Area, we should meet up sometime, I'm in SF. I know of two other Bay Area folks, would be awesome to get 4 WCs together at some point.
Here it is...saved as a Google spreadsheet. Edits require a Google account. Please feel free to edit in good community spirit and let me know of any issues.
There are two tabs-- one by VIN (the master) and one by scuttle # (meant to be temporary until we can link scuttles with VINs)
