Pardon me for asking but what's the deal in the WC50 model? What's the diff between it and a stock fJCW HB? This is the first time I've heard about it. Sounds great.

Got it thanks. I went to the start of the thread and browsed a few pages. So it's a limited edition JCW hatch in a unique color with a bunch of JCW CF bits and interior trim and Recaro seats, only 50 in US. Modeled after the 1960 World Championship British car. And you'd better like green lol. That was an N-14 right?

thats just about right - but you forgot 1 little piece of info. The john cooper signature on the hood has to add like 30 hp or something

all kidding aside in regards to the green - unless you are in direct sunlight it almost looks black most of the time. People tend to flock to this car at events - its sharp, thats for sure

Hi Gang!
I need some advice.

I'm thinking about selling my WC50 and then buying a GP R56.

Am I going nuts?

IMO if u are going to switch that's the one to go to. The GP2 is awesome and it has the more reliable engine. But, even though it's also special it will never me as unique as the 50.

How many miles are on your wc50? Condition?

That's a tough call. What's the reason for the change? Speed. Collectibility. Reliability?

#437 Needs a New Home

Going to be listing #437 in the marketplace in the next few days/week for sale. Anyone have any thoughts out there on the current value? 14,200 miles / completely stock (with the exception of an aftermarket turbo heat shield that I installed). Located in San Jose, CA. Any thoughts are appreciated.

You won't get $26k - that's what they were selling for a couple years ago. If flawless and it has the optional JCW suspension, you might get a bit north of $20K, with exceptionally low miles, but it will be a stretch unless you find someone who is searching for one. I sold #417 in early 2013 and got about $26k. It had less than 10K miles, was flawless and had the optional JCW suspension and clear bra installed prior to taking delivery. I almost bought it back last April for $19K with 26K miles, because I really missed the car. I still do.

Question - did you both get new belts (free) at Inspection 1 (2 years or 30K miles)?

$26k is optimistic. That is GP money - and GP is 3 years newer. I sold my WC50 for $29k in Feb/2013 with 10k miles. I really miss mine too...I'd buy another for the right price. But not sure what the right price would be. I recently bought an '11 JCW with very high miles and loaded - stickered for $39k - since I couldn't find a WC50. Love my car but I'd sell it to get into another WC50.

Great looking cars. To this day, people still tell me it was their favorite of the MINIs that I've owned in the past.

Agree with the feedback of other prior owners - $26k was doable maybe 2 years ago, now low $20's give or take (depending on miles and condition) is more realistic, considering that they are now 5 years old.

There was one WC50 which sold last year for high $20's, but the mileage was very low on that one (under 10k) and I believe it had the JCW suspension and clear bra too.

Yup, I paid a bit over $28k for #439 about a year ago in SF, under 10k miles and lovingly cared for by PO, JCW suspension, strut brace, and shifter ****, plus 3M clear in all the good spots and newer Pilot Super Sports. Think it would have sold pretty quickly if I hadn't gone for it myself, and it was the dream Mini!

Wc50 are a rare thing to see. The Green is a head turner.

I'd also disagree about comparing it to a GP price - there were 500 GPs offered in the U.S., and only 50 of the WC50, with well under 50 cars that are still low miles, well-cared for, and kept to close to factory spec (with just bolt-on upgrades like suspension or wheels). As I understand it the WC50 is the most rare MINI ever built.

I'd say mid- to higher- $20k is totally reasonable - very few come up for sale in the U.S. every year, but hey, try the market! They are worth what someone will pay...

I need new set of scuttle numbers for my WC50. I'm sure that those are one-of-a-kind parts, and that it may require reaching out directly to MINI USA or somewhere else.
Has anybody been been able to get new ones? Or has any idea who should I try to reach for that?

I believe a dealership can order them for you if you provide the VIN or perhaps the title or something. I'm guessing they have to be individually remade by MINI?

Each car was delivered with a spare set of scuttle numbers. It's worth checking with MINI USA to see if there was a third set held at MINI HQ (like they did with the GP2).

+1 They are special order and made by MINI on the GP2 there were 3 sets , on the Wc50 , think there was two and then special order and made. Contact MINI and they can get them made. Might take a while.

Hey everyone I just purchased this WC50 #413 Monday and can't be any happier. I'm the third owner on the car and it has 23k miles on it. I was wondering if Mini does anything special with these cars? Meaning do they have a birth certificate or some sort memorabilia for proof you own one? Either way I'm happy with the buy this car is a lot of fun to drive!
