Another CarMax WC50
I'm still looking for a WC50 and found this one in CA at CarMax. Missing bonnet stripes and WC50 scuttle badges. 67k, which is too many miles for me. My search continues.

Right? The salesperson I spoke to said as far as he knew it was selling at the sticker price of $40,300.
I said I was interested but wouldn't pay sticker. The expired factory warranty and preowned WC50 prices are getting too attractive to pay that kind of money.
He said he'd get back to me after seeing what he could do on the price. He didn't. I followed up, but he didn't get back to me again. I'm assuming it's going for sticker as he said originally.

Meanwhile, I'll enjoy my 'regular' 2013 S with 8k miles.

I'm in a similar boat. I've got a MINI I plan on keeping "forever". Two Hardtops wasn't in the plan. I was actually thinking 2007 911 Turbo, but the prices are creeping up. Then I saw the WC50 again. Vexed and a little cursed.

I put a deposit on this thing two weeks ago from Rhode Island. The dealer described it to me as being pristine. I made the 4.5 hour hike to go pick it up yesterday. What a complete sh*t show it turned out to be. The plastic trim around the fenders, etc. had been spray painted by what looked to be gloss paint you would by at Home Depot. It was faded, uneven, and peeling in some places. The front spoiler was cracked, road rash all over the side skirts, scratched rims, a huge scratch in the signed racing stripe, and a hole in the rear bumper. It was absolutely terrifying to see what this car turned into. It also had been modded up, with what I can only imagine was cheap, junk work based off the awful paint work on the exterior. I didn't even bother driving it....such a piece of junk. The car was certainly destined for auction.
I think one of the 50 in the USA had been totaled. I would consider this one a complete loss as well. You would have to spend some good money getting the exterior back to its original condition, but then still tackle the mess that's under the hood.
UPDATE: Further research into the WC50 404 situation...there are issues with some of the electronics.

I have number 400 and number 435 has been totaled. So, there are only 49 now in the country. Unfortunate that so many of them have been modded and mistreated. Good for those of us who have kept ours factory original though. Here's mine yesterday. Love this car and how much rarer it will become. This a rare winter trip as it sits in my garage during winter until the weather breaks.
