Would you buy your JCW again?

If you had a "do over card" would you buy your JCW again, or would you buy another car? With the talk of the window/reflash issues, possible quality issue of punch seats and possible new engine updates, would you buy your car again? I am going to pick up my JCW in a few weeks and would like your inputs. Thanks

Maybe my opinion doesn't carry as much weight - as I have only had the car for 5 weeks (2500 miles); but I would DEFINITELY buy this car again (and again and again...). This is the most fun vehicle I have owned; and ranks right up there with some exotics I have driven ("World Class Driving" program). I'm coming off a BMW550i Sport. The JCW wins hands-down. I'm expecting some problems; but haven't seen any yet. Even if they do surface - I'm sure whatever it is can be worked out. Bottom line - I look for an excuse to drive the car every day and always come away with a grin.
Enjoy your car. You will have no regrets!

Oh hell yes. Owned for 16 months almost 16k miles. The car is a blast. I am very much caught up with continued modding of the car and the NAM community.

Good question. I wanted a convertible. I wanted good gas mileage. And, i wanted something fun to drive and something that I would be proud to own. Now that's a difficult combination to find. Other cars that were near misses and that I think about are Porsches (a slightly used 911 cab is in the price range); Bmw 1 series (a barebones 135 cab could be had at invoice price for around the same as my mini). But then gas mileage is not good with either of these cars. I guess I got the best thing I could at the time. Of course I'm hoping that the next '11-'12 JCW is something really to be proud of. My jcw cab is an 09 so I don't feel so bad about the refresh coming in 11/12. But getting a '10 when the refresh is so close would certainly not be something I'd want to do, but that's just me.

almost 1 year old and i have absolutely no regrets. Have driven many of my friends' fast and fun cars, but nothing can compare the my JCW mini!

Excellent handling, more than enough power for the street, only sipping on fuel, and the quality of a BMW. cant ask for much better

YES_YES_YES_YES_YES

I have had this 2009 JCW since October 2008 and I like it as much or more then the first day I bought it. I'm about to hit 13,000 trouble free miles. I just did 3,000 miles in the past two months driving back and forth every weekend to Tampa from Daytona and back on I-4. I averaged 34mpg and ran between 75 & 95 mph most of the time on that bumpy crappy traffic heavy interstate and actually had fun driving except when traffic was at a standstill. I got one little stone chip in my windshield from a stupid hi-jacker pickup and one flat tire but the car was perfect in every way.

I have no rattles at all and the car is still great fun to drive. I have had no problems with the car at all and I would buy one all over again.

DEFINITELY YES, I have had Porsches, BMW MB, Infinitis, Volvo, and Saab.
My JCW is a hoot to drive, it is quirky, but fun, so I would buy another without hesitation. I have driven over 10K miles in six months.

6mo, 12k miles, yes I'd buy again.

but, if the gas went back down to $1/gallon, I might look elsewhere. The MINI is fun to drive, gets great mpg....but is not as sound proof as other cars I've had & maybe not as comfortable for long drives(6+ hours).

I'd probably look at an Audi S6/S8, Bimmer 540/M5. [I'm tall & like go to fast, I don't fit in many cars]

Just got back for a 240 mile rally through the twisty back roads with the local mini club. There are not many cars out there that give you the grin factor like this one does. I look at other cars, but they would really suit a different life style. So I'll stick with the JCW. I like the quirky race car lifestyle that my JCW provides. I like to mod too, and the Mini has lots of aftermarket parts for those who dare.

I'm going to approach your question from a slightly different angle. To me, you're asking if you (or I) would buy another MINI? If the answer is yes, then the JCW factory is the ultimate MINI currently available, so if you can afford it why not? If you're not sure about what car in general you want I can't help you. Personally, I want what I want. I'm a car guy and I've had lots of them. I'm on my third MINI since 2005 and my 16 month old JCW already has 25K miles on it. Since I started my MINI buying, they've also shared the garage with an E46 M3, an Audi A3, a Porsche Cayman S, and now a BMW MZ4 Coupe, all very different cars bought for different reasons, but all because I wanted them. Yesterday, on the way home from a 500 mile round trip in my JCW, with two mountainbikes on the roof, I couldn't think of a more fun car with the amount of utility that the MINI has. I can carry all the crapola needed for a roadtrip for two, maybe three if we really squeezed, still get decent gas mileage, and fun to drive. Although it would be more "practical" you will never, never, never see a SUV or truck in my driveway. Until something else comes out that shares its capabilities and SURPASSES its dynamics, I will have a JCW in my collection. Price be damned, if you want it, you want it.

Even with the 3 problems I've had, I absolutely love my '09 JCW. FWIW the problems were 1. Passenger airbag light, 2. Window rolldown / ECU reflash and 3. HPFE. Once taken care of the car is back to its phenominal self. While the car was in I was given a 328i which I absolutely hated; the JCW is just so much more inticing. Sometimes I wish I bought the convertible for the effect, but the hardtop is lightning in the mountains. 9k miles.

Yep, I love my JCW cab!!! I want another one for my vacation house but a jcw clubman would be more practical. It's a hard call cab or clubman?

Thanks everyone,
With all of the positive input, my JCW should be in my hands shortly. It will have the convenience package, Xenon's, rear fogs, Punch leather, H&K sound, suede sport wheel, Aero Kit, & funky roof spoiler. I'll post pictures once it comes in along with its motoring family!

I took delivery over the weekend and am trying to decide which car gets regulated to the carport versus the garage spot. Love the car but it looks like it is going to take quite an effort to keep the wheels clean. I will try to post pics soon.

Absolutely and without a doubt. I've owned my '09 JCW for 1 yr (10,000 mi), and it is truly one of the best cars I've owned or driven. I've had over the years: 911 C4, 911 Turbo X-50, Carrera GT, BMW Dinan M5, M3 Sedan, GTI, Saab 900, Volvo 850, & my 1st car a VW Sirocco.

The unexpected best thing about the JCW (or any Mini), is that is can haul a ton of stuff too. I recently opened a new office (March 1st), and must have used the JCW 20 times just to haul new equipment and office supplies. Practical power, and a blast to drive, with excellent mileage.

Redo; absolutely
