MINI United: JCW F1!

Just unveiled at MINI United, the beautiful non-metallic green JCW F1 with white roof, carbon fiber goodies, and lounge leather carbon black with red stitching!

Sounds like this baby may or may not come here to the US........we'll see, only 250 examples, individually numbered

If this car comes to the states the price is said to be around $55000 ouch, thats why they are only building 250. Who is going to pay that kind of money for that?

Well, let's put things into perspective here - it's essentially a fully optioned JCW with special paint. I paid nearly 40k for mine, and that was leaving out a few options I now wish I had gotten. There are plenty of people already people paying over that for their optioned out JCWs, and loaded out JCW cabrios will also be up there, so 50k + is not so unrealistic

"...211 hp John Cooper Works package as standard."

does this mean the 2010 have a power bump?

I only hope it doesnt come state-side so I don't have to convince myself not to get one. I love the whole idea of this machine.

While I appreciate the enthusiasm some folks have for this model, I can't help but think that this is celebrating a racing heritage, so am I missing something that the F1 is just aesthetics and no muscle? I certainly think the color is awesome, but .. without an increase in power over the factory JCW .. I'm left a bit speechless. My 2 cents.

I don't have an issue with the power but it should come standard with the JCW suspension. I wonder why it does not since it includes just about every other JCW part made.

Maybe the Mini marketing dept did some focus groups and they think the typical buyer of this rare, collectible, expensive Mini prefers a plush suspension over the more aggressive JCW suspension? The R53 GP came with the upgraded JCW suspension so I guess I really don't understand why Mini left it off this model.

Not trying to be a smart a$$ - really not - but the JCW has plenty of power already. The stock tires and suspension set up are already somewhat overwhelmed by it.....

I agree... another reason why this car should have come fitted with the JCW suspension from the factory..... I just don't understand.............. otherwise, this is the best Mini you can buy for $55,000 !!

Yeah - the lack of JCW suspension has me scratching my head as well - it has every possible option already

How sure are you of the price ($55,000) Mine does not have every option and (and it's still on the boat) its setting at a little over $44,000. I could have spent more on wheels and seats, etc... so if there is only 250 and they signed them?? what about the Challenge model that is race only what price tag does it carry??

The price listed in the write-up for the UK is 40K pounds, which is about $68k US dollars if you can get one. I'm thinking these will sell for $75K plus once all are sold.

who the hell would buy that for 75000? thats a waste. I'd still take my JCW over it if they were the same price. all i like is the rims. basically $30-40,000 extra for a limited edition color, because thats all you are really getting over a regular JCW.

I think the $70,000 was for the Challenge the JCW track only (factory race car) all come with the same specs except left or right steer
