MINI United: JCW F1!
Collector show car is exactly right! Helps build the Mini Cooper brand name.
I don't think it will be too much of a show car, might take the route of US Spec E36 M3 Lightweight which added no power only added few thing that euro spec car already had, or maybe the route of MC40. For $70,000 it should have JCW suspension, JCW aero brake ducts, JCW Recaros, and most of all at least 225bhp via JCW tuning. Or add a third function setting button "Track".
I've heard about 80k

.... $55,000? I just can't see that. One either needs to be extremely dedicated to the MINI namesake, or money just doesn't mean that much to any takers, IMO.
I saw this bad boy at MINI United Silverstone last week. I told MINI USA Head, Jim McDowell there that out of all of the thousands of MINIs/Minis attending the event, this F1 was my most favorite. The side note about me loving the non-metallic BRG and the pepper white roof sparked him saying that I should wait a couple of weeks and I will be happy. I hope that wish comes true. (Some images of the event are posted in my signature)
If you had to choose between the F1 coming to USA, or the F1 not coming and we get the BRG and pepper white as a option on JCW what would it be?
My vote would be keep that expensive car there and let me build my own BRG beauty.

Are you talking about the headlights itself or the chrome rings around the headlight? If you are talking about the headlights then you are referring to the Joey mod. It is a diy mod. If you meant the chrome rings then that is usually a vinyl wrap around you can buy from a vendor.
I'm not usually a fan of British Racing Green but that car looks hot! The black Challenge Spokes sets it off. I wouldn't spend that much on this car. Heck I don't think that the Gp's were even close to that pricing and they were pretty limited production as well.
My salesman forwarded an email from his Sales Manager from her regional sales manager saying my local dealer will likely be offered two of these. She had asked her sales people to inquire amongst their clients for any interest at an estimated price of $50-55K. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the green, I do like the black/red leather, but also would not care to load the car up with Nav, PDC, etc. Biggest beef though is no power increase. To pique my interest it would have to have a tangible power bump along with the bling. I don't doubt though that they will find a couple of customers to buy them.
I'm a fan of BRG and so far, I have had two MINIs in BRG. One with a white roof and the other with the mandatory silver(Clubman). But this F1 has real BRG and not metallic. It is beautiful! My image(in my sig) of it shows it to be black but it isn't even close in person. Also, the roof is what many would call "pepper white" but I don't know the official color. It is a creamy off white that looks great. I saw many attendees of MINI United return more than once to see this again.
Got the word from my dealer the WC F1 will come to the US, not sure how many and the BRG non-met should be offered with the 2010 models. BTW I spec out a JCW on MINIUSA with all the options the F1 has except used Met BRG paint and it was just under 42K.
WC50 in the US
The WC50 is $40,300 here in the US but only 50 are coming. I made my deposit today - I was just lucky my dealer is getting one and it wasn't spoken for yet. I will probably end up getting the jcw suspension but other than that...
Lucky it was still available. I am just happy it is actually coming. I had my deposit in 50 weeks ago.
Though I like the car, I am somewhat tired of Mini keep coming up with these "special edition" minis.
It's like they try to boost sales by coming up with something special. Each model is special but if you come up with too many different "special editions", it takes the rarity out of it IMO.

The Camden Minis have those black headlight interiors. Crinkle (?) finish, I'll guess high temp. By the way, if anyone is looking for this type of paint, you can probably get it at a Harley dealer. High temp., crinkle finish, spray can. Its used on the Night Train and a few other Harley models.

on the bonnet stripes and no JCW suspension, it would lead you to think it's not really meant to be taken out of the garage much if any (show type car)
