JCW brake cooling kit & splitter

For those who have had a dealership install the brake cooling ducts and splitter, what was the cost of the installation? I'd rather do it myself but my chemo medicine has got me down. Thanks for any replies.

I'm having mine installed today. I'll let you know what they charge. This will be the first time they have done this so it may take longer than normal but they will only charged the amount that it is mandated by the instructions.

I think the retrofit PDF on motoringfile says 1 hour for installation and .5 hour mechanical and 1 hour electrical (?) for troubleshooting.

An hour TOPS for a dealer to do both. I did the splitter this weekend. It took a few extra minutes to do the one side but once I knew the drill the second side was a snap.

^^ I know. It seemed weird that they listed anything for the electrical.

Anyway, just got the call from the Dealership. Part plus installation was just over $250.00 after 15% discount.

I bought my JCW aero kit 3 weeks ago and the ducts did not come with it. The PDF instructions have how to install it, but the actual duct wasn't in there. I was told by the lady at the parts counter that the duct kit is $200 extra on top of the full aero kit.

If the instructions show it, I'd push it with MINIUSA. That's not cool.

I could see if you ordered it before or around the announcement of the change and maybe got one of the last kits without, but it seems like something's fishy.

That's hard to believe, Mine is about three weeks old now and came with the new stuff, at least in the prepainted kit.

I just bought the prepainted kit last week and it was the old version. The dealer told me that the old one is called JCW Aero Kit I and the new version is called JCW Aero Kit II. The Aero Kit II is a little bit more $ while the first version in on sale. Seeing how disapointed I was, the dealer gave me the brake duct kit and splitter at cost . I'm picking them up this Saturday.

I think there is more than one version you can get, your dealer might have ordered the version without the cooling ducts... I remember my dealer asking me if I wanted the ducts or not and also is I wanted color match wheel arches or black. The instructions are always the same though, that is why you'd see them in it anyway.

Does anyone know if the front portion of the JCW kit can be purchased separately? I would like to get the brake ducts without having to purchase the entire kit. Thanks in advance.

How the hell do i remove the bottom clips of the front bumper? I am trying to do this install on my own but I am having a hard time taking the bumper off. I have the aero kit installed.
thanks guys for any advice. (The main problem has to do with the bottom clips. How do I remove them? I cant fit anything in there to pry them out.
Thanks.

Yeah, they are tough to get off. Try to pop them out, giving the bodywork a gentle tug.
