New JCW order timeline... my turn...

......For those of you that have done this recently (RedBull, I think you may qualify?), what is the general time line (your real one, not the one the dealer is feeding me of "about 45 days") from order to delivery date on JCW's at this point now that we are past the launch? I have my visit next Friday with the Dealer to have some "campaigns" done and to possibly going ahead and making the leap and move up into the JCW family. Thanks all.

If you let me know what your spec is I might actually have it in stock. :-)

Ordered mine on 1/17. On the production line 1/20. Finished 1/25. Sailed from Southampton on 1/28. Arrived New York City tonite (2/6). I estimate another 2-3 weeks for port installation of some options, hauling to Annapolis, and dealer prep. Total time 30-45 days.

I had to wait about three weeks for the next month's allotments to be doled out to my dealer...but once I had a slot it was five weeks from start of production to delivery including port installation of body kit.

Seeing how fast these are going from order to in production really reinforces how slow sales must be. Hope you negotiated a good deal phlash! Best of luck with everything.

I just ordered mine from Jackie Cooper Mini in OKC, the sales rep told me 6-8 weeks....which I am not monitoring too closely. I am in Iraq so it will be waiting for me when I get back. Just gotta find someone to take my 04 MCS off of my hands now....

Good luck! Keep us posted as to when it arrives and how long it took. I'd be curious as to how long it takes with regards to distance from port. OKC is smack in the middle of the country, not near any body of water so I am assuming it'll take a good few days to reach OKC once it makes land.

Thanks. We'll do our best. No negotiations yet...this coming Friday.....we'll see what happens.......if things don't go like I want we'll keep the MCS for a little while longer......and I'm OK with that......she's a hoot....

FYI - I got $2,000 off of mine that I ordered and they're holding the paperwork until the Stimulus Package goes through....there is a $1,500 tx rebate/deduction in the package for new car buyers. JUST a little FYI when you talk to them. My dealer also offered $1,000 off in conjunction with $1,000 in dealer accessories. Mini rarely wheels and deals...now is a good time to get in, especially with lower APRs out there on loans. These are the primary reasons I ordered a brand new car when I said I never would!

I am ordering my JCW from Jackie Cooper Mini (JCM) in Oklahoma City. There is a military discount, but only in Europe. I called JCM and told them if they did something similar, I'd seriously consider it. They matched the offer and I took it. The MA is a nice lady named Traci Sellers. She has been very flexible and helpful. I've never had any issues when dealing with JCM, they actually seem to go out of their way more than you'd expect. I feel kind of spoiled now!

As for the tax rebate thing...I've talked with the MA. IF the stimulus passes (I believe it will) we're going to do the paperwork to make it fit into the timeframe for the $1,500 credit dealie.

Hope this helps! If you do contact JCM/Traci Sellers, tell her I sent you!

Here are just a couple of the articles I found on the tax rebate/credit dealie....

It says it is retroactive to November 2008 and runs throughout 2009.

there are more articles, I just grabbed two from the top!

no problem...anything to help you save a dollar here and there!

as best I can figure, they are saying a $1,500 credit on a $25,000, $2,500 on a $35,000...so a $30k JCW would be $2,000 is my guess.

wait, i put a deposit down for a new JCW. I want in on this rebate. Do I get the rebate ONLY if the stimulus package passes??

I'll probably have the car before the stimulus package passes, do I approach the dealership to give me back some money?

if I read it properly...it will be retroactive to November 2008 purchases. So if your car was before then, I guess you're out of luck. If after November 2008 but before 31 Dec 09, you're good.

there is some debate as to whether this covers strictly American cars. I cannot find anything that says "American Only." That would be a bit discriminatory and unfair. Seeing as this bill comes from the left side of the isle, I cannot see them allowing only some and not others (no political agenda here, just stating facts).

I took order to a 2009 JCW Clubman back in mid December 2008. The plant was shut down the whole month of Dec and I was scheduled for week 3 production, which would be the 3 week in Jan. After that week passed and no update on my Mini I called Mini USA and they said it was scheduled for week 6. It went into Production on 2/2/09 and was done on 2/5/09. Its arrived to port on 2/9/09 and this is where I stand. Im thinking its going to be leaving port by the end of this week and on the boat for 10 days putiing me near the 23rd arrival in the states. Then probably a day or two at port assembly and 2 days to get to my dealer. This would give me arrival at dealer around 2/26/09 if all runs smooth, and probably a 2-4 days assembly at the dealer due to a good amount of custom options I got. So I'm look for a delivery to myself the 3/5/09. So being the factory shut down in December my clock didnt really tick till March 1st....so Im looking at 63 or so days into finally seeing this mini....

63 days sounds about right....the website says 6-8 weeks. even if they told me sooner than 6 weeks, I'd doubt it.
