Buzz @ 3k RPM

Anyone running into additional buzzing from the exhaust at ~3k? I seem to get it when the car is warm on decel. To me it sounds like a heatshield or something similar.

Thoughts? Experiences?

Not at 3K, but I'm getting a similar buzzing sound when engaging the clutch briskly from startup.

have you checked the red plastic piece on top of the tach?

It is the spot that would blink red if you have the alarm installed.

Mine was buzzing and then i reached up and put my hand over the small plastic there. It has just enough room to slide a bit. I havnt figured out how to keep it locked in place. If i hold it, no more buzzing.

i'm getting a real high pitch buzz/rattle from my driver side lock button, or what ever you call that thing, i think it is touching the mount and causing the noise, real annoying since it is right by my ear.

I'm having the exact same issue. It's just a hair below 3000 rpms. If I rev up to let's say 4000 rpms, and let the car slow itself down to 2500, around 2900 it starts buzzing, and stops around 2600 rpms.

Did you ever figure out what it is? I'm still under warranty for a few months so I would like to get it fixed.

it must just be a perfect harmonic coming from the vibrations at that rpm. With the stock exhausts on JCW, it would not be suprising since you all report this. I actually get the buzz on acceleration, not engine braking.

My issue turned out being a piece of a band clamp that had managed to get wedged in between the transmission and the subframe. It fell out when I installed my torque arm insert. Problem solved.
