I am the happy new owner of a 2021 JCW Convertible. I have a question regarding what tools were originally provided with the vehicle. There is a small tool folder that appears to have a tow hook and a couple of other small tools. The compartment under the cargo area, which the manual states is for tools, is empty. The car came with run flats, so not expecting a spare or jack, but were there any other items that originally came with these cars? Would appreciate any information/pictures you can provide of what should be there. I can always look for the missing items, if any, on eBay. Thanks!
So, I've put my first 1,000 miles (she has just over 12,000 miles now) on my JCW convertible. Absolutely enjoyable miles :-) My only dislike about her is the digital instrument cluster. I know a lot of folks were anxious to retrofit the new digital display to their pre 2021 vehicles, but perversely, I am exploring going in the other direction. I previously had a 2018 Mini Countryman SE All4 with the analog style instrument cluster. I found it functional and charming. I don't like the matte surface on the new style display and when the top is down and the sun is coming from behind me it is very had to read it. If she did not have the heads up display, it would be a real problem. I was looking on the Minipartsdirect.com website, and it appears that the prior analogue appearance cluster could be retrofitted to my 2021 (part number 62-10-8-8779-665). My question is whether there would be any loss of functionality/available information if I were to do so. For example, my 2018 did not have the start/stop feature (maybe because it was a gas/electric hybrid?). The new cluster shows whether it is on or not. Can anyone who retrofitted the newer instrument cluster to their 2017 - 2020 Mini speak to this question or let me know if there are any other considerations I should be aware of in making a decision to retrofit. Thanks!
